    the radiator fins are very thin which is good for coolant as in this case the engine oil viscosity doesn't make any problems to flow free ?

  • @shubhamchandra5417
    @shubhamchandra5417 Před 4 lety +4

    What about two radiators? There's ample space below the main radiator to add a vertical one. All you'll need is another hose, and you possibly could series connect both the radiators. Thoughts?
    Also, I've considered to port an RC390 radiator to my r15 V3, after I install powertronic ecu and a better intake port, free flow exhaust. Along with a 183cc bore kit from indo, like Abhinav Bhatt has.

    • @nishantnaik8490
      @nishantnaik8490 Před 4 lety +1

      Adding radiator won't help and may not be possible . If you want to keep bike cool try for radiator with more capacity with couple of fans or a bigger fan to cool down the coolant .

    • @nishantnaik8490
      @nishantnaik8490 Před 4 lety +1

      Talking about r15 , you don't need different radiator or fan to keep your bike cool as 183cc won't catch a lot of heat just go for engine ice .

      Just type rc390 full servicing on youtube topend he added his video on it. you will get idea how to install,2 bolts are install under battery compartment so just you need to fit 2 front holes in that bolt then tight nut 12 size probably,then in under the tank you need to install 3 pipes attach to fuel filter,then you need to tighten 2 bolts under rider seat (make sure you attach battery pannel unlocker to bolt loc) after finishes tighing press ecu cable in bracket and their is small plastic handle on cable press it in forward direction when you start pressing it you will feel main cable is pressing inside bracket and getting tighten that's all it easy just one time see video & check you tank bolt location. you are getting problem under battery compartment i think.

    how is the oil pressure? did you measure it

    • @kevinpinheiro2485
      @kevinpinheiro2485 Před 3 lety

      This is what I found in forums. Does anyone have an idea about this ?...Kaveman, If you look at the schematic of the 390 oil circuit (pg. 19) you will see that oil moves under pressure from the Eaton pump directly to the oil filter. After filtration the oil is sent -under pressure - from the filter housing to all the other pressure-lubricated components of the engine. Your oil cooler proposal would release oil pressure from the oil filter housing by routing it out through the oil filter cover, through the cooler and back into the crankcase via the oil filler. This would rob the entire engine of oil pressure and destroy your motor immediately. You need to rethink and devise a scheme that would route oil through a cooler and back into the crankcase WITHOUT disturbing/altering the pressurized oil flow from the Eaton pump to all pressure-lubricated components.
      Oil coolers, IMO, are most useful for air-cooled bikes, where they can supplement the heat-shedding capacity of engine finning. Air-cooled engines are often plumbed to accept oil coolers for this reason. In contrast, liquid-cooled engines, such as the 390, are designed with radiators whose size/surface area is calculated to enable the radiator to shed all the calories the motor can generate, even under the most extreme/adverse conditions, with a margin to spare. Oil coolers, in this configuration, are redundant and unnecessary. This is why oil coolers are rarely seen on liquid-cooled bikes.

    What you've done if good but I concerned about the oil filter as it is car diesel filter and the viscosity of diesel is very thin and can be easily absorbed through the filter. It's not the same with engine oil as it is thick the oil pump must work more header to push the oil through. And also open the tapped cover to see if the rocker arms, shims, and valves are getting enough gush of oil to be lubricanted.
    All in all really appreciate your job and all the best for the build.
