Thank you, I have had one of these that has been dis-assembled since August 2023. I am finally putting it back together, and this video has saved my sanity. Although older Singers are similar, there are subtle differences that can affect the way the machine functions. Thank you so much for your detailed and understandable instructions.

Thank you for these very informative videos. I have one of these Singer machines that was in the garbage. I was not confident on how to properly clean, and now I am ready to do as you instructed!

Thanks so much, while I was watching, I was telling you to put the belt back on first....Like you could hear me.... LOL. Just finished changing my belt on my 185K. She is purring like a kitten!

I have a machine that's a little bit older than us but same color it's got one of those fabric steel ban Looking belts on it. And have worked great for years until recently and this one did help me diagnose some of my problems. Thank you for helping make this sewing since I was a child a little bit more experienced!! Mine has the FASHION disks!! Double needle set up.

Hi, thanks for this video. I have this machine and it has worked well for some time. Recently I noticed that the pressure foot was not holding the fabric tightly enough so I adjusted the knob screw on top.
Now the pressure foot does not go all the way down and grip the fabric at all. I took the nose plate off to try and diagnose the problem to no avail. I was hoping you could help. I only paid $15.00 for the machine but I really don't want to scrap it. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. Terry

That’s a good question! I wouldn’t scrap it. Facebook is my resource for vintage sewing machines when I’m stumped. Go to Facebook and join a vintage sewing machine group. Type in your issue and they should help you. This doesn’t seem like it should be a very difficult fix. Good luck and let us know.

I have just bought a machine like this, the inside was filled with an old wasp nest.

I noticed that initially the belt is off the machine and then is on when testing 5he bobbin winder. How do I adjust the belt to get the correct speed?

Hello. Your video is very informative. I just got one of these machines. It’s in rough shape. May i ask what source you used to get new or replacement parts?

I use whatever source I can find at the time I need. Try Fred Sanford parts on Facebook. He’s been a good source here and there over the years.
