      Technically this would be possible, but personally would advise you to feed a variety different foods in order to make sure the fish will get all the necessary nutrition. In the following video I give an overview of the growth rate & development of my fish and also mention the type(s) of food I mention at each stage. I usually buy a can of 454 gram of BBS eggs. I keep a working stock in the refrigerator and the rest in the freezer. I can usually work with this for about 8-10 months depending on the amount of fry/spawns I have growing up in the fishroom. This method works perfect for me.

      Blue The Betta I start feeding my fry as soon as they have absorbed their egg-yolk and start to swim horizontally. In the first few days I feed vinegar eels (smaller than BBS) and add increasing amounts of newly hatched BBS (most nutritious)

    Hello, how long do the BBS stay alive after they hatched without putting them to the refrigerator?

    • @BettaTerritory
      @BettaTerritory  Před 2 lety +2

      Newly hatched BBS are the most nutritious 1-2 days after hatching. Personally I set up a new culture every 2 days. So try not to hatch too many eggs at once.
      In freshwater the survival of BBS decreases with a lower salinity. So important here is to prevent overfeeding to prevent excessive waste.

    Can we feed newly hatched bbs at the first day of their completing of the yolk sac absorption ?

    • @BettaTerritory
      @BettaTerritory  Před 10 měsíci

      When the fry is in the horizontal stage (free swimming) you can directly feed newly hatched BBS. If they can eat it directly will depend on the size of the fry and the size of the BBS. An alternative is feeding vinegar eels for 2-3 days as these are even smaller.

    • @BettaTerritory
      @BettaTerritory  Před 5 lety +1

      Lance Belaong Some breeders feed egg yolk in the first days after free swimming, but this can polute the tank very fast. Another option is very fine dry foods but this is not eaten very well by the fry. Live foods really are the best option for fry at this stage as it is moving the fry will chase the food. Further newly hatched BBS is very nutritious.

      vorniceanu ionut I know several breeders use egg yolk, but I have no experience with this myself.
