Who cares if the tale was even real or just a Full Metal Jacket imitation (even one of the cops from the ep lampshades this), "POKER FACE" sure is a fine GitS: SAC - 2nd GIG breather episode regardless.
The way the cop talked about it i always assumed it was some sort of obscure sniper movie that i couldnt find.
Only a few years later when i read some comments about it i realised it was Full Metal Jacket... oh well haha.
@@Mr.Fortunato i always got the feeling that certain events were 'true' and some lifted from the movie. saito was trying to keep them guessing, literally, for his poker game.
@@StuffedCrocodile Yeah it makes sense. The episode's name is even "Poker Face" It really makes you wonder.
Especially as a viewer since Saito also seems to get a tear in his eye as if remembering the events, after he lights a cigarette at the end of the episode.
Hopefully we will get another 2D ghost in the Shell series one day…

You may not see this comment, but there was a song unreleased from the ost that played at the end of Stand Alone Complex's 1st Gig, episode 23: Equinox, when Batou and the Major are talking at the end just before the credits. Does anybody know the name of that soundtrack title? I've been looking through past episodes looking for soundtracks like this one and the one from episode 23.
I can try to see if I can find that song but no promises.
@@dukeofnylon I did find it, but like many unreleased tracks, it has no name. I lucked out with many unreleased ones actually. The one I looked for also plays when Aoi erases the memories of the kids.

@@damonrichardson1999 I found the one your looking for typing in OST Disc 4 Smooth In The Shell; 1 track broken into 4 parts each one with a few melodies you won't find in the OST. Maybe you can help for the tracks I am looking for are also hard to find;
1. Same episode (equinox) when the Aoi and Cerrano recount their argument six years ago
AND
2. In 2nd GiG (can't remember the episode) but it's when the Major assembles Section 9 along with the new recruits and close in pursuit on Kuze's location in Dejima.

@@dukeofnylon but the isolated chorus isnt in the soundtrack without backround music? Also do you know what language that is?
@@BlackCroLong I dont think so , this is track # 17 if I recall correctly but I dont know of a version with just the vocals. Nor sure what language it is. could be Greco Roman?
