  • Taped: 10/11/2002. Paula Vogel is the author of such plays as the 1998 Pulitzer Prize-winning "How I Learned to Drive,"-which deals with incest and sexual abuse--and "The Baltimore Waltz." She discusses how the illness and death of her brother led to the writing of "The Baltimore Waltz" (1992), as well as current gender issues in the theatre, and her lasting love of musicals.
    The acclaimed television series 'Women in Theatre' provides a unique look into the lives of some of the gifted women who create and sustain theatre in the United States -- with major directors, designers, actors, lyricists, composers and producers -- conducted by Linda Winer, theatre critic for Newsday.
