Its been almost 2 years since my kitty finished his FIP treatment and he is doing great. Mine had neurologic dry FIP so the best course was high dose of injections through out the whole treatment period. My amazing vet came to give shots on Sundays and even during Easter Holliday - its a big deal to work on Friday before Easter or Sunday Easter - I cant thank them enough for the effort and dedication they put to save my kitty. It cost me a total of 6000 euros, from which 2000 euros was the diagnostication. I just made a loan from the bank for 5 years and i dont regret a single cent. Im filled with joy every time I look at my kitty and treasure every moment i have with him

I had a kitten that died of FIP years ago. Still remember it like it was yesterday. I know this can also be VERY expensive, seems sketchy, but it really is a miracle treatment. The US research was very likely slowed during covid, as the treatment is related.
There's hope. I sure hope they speed up the approval process.
There is a local kitten rescue that just got their kitten back that was just diagnosed with fip. I wonder why she wanted help with fundraiser, now I know and will be donating.

My cat just finished his 84 days and he was getting back to normal if not even better. But after a week or so his health started declining. I think he needs to redo the treatment. Please I need advice or something. I feel frustrated. I don’t want to lose my cat 💔

Hi Dr.Dody, I hope you are doing well.😊 Dr.Dody I want to ask you something about my cat who is currently under the treatment of FIP but first I would let you know that my cat is doing amazing and today was his 50th day of fip treatment and I am so much happy that he is doing so well❤ but dr.dody he is not pooping normally like he is constipated and he is also taking medicines for constipation for past 7 days but his bowel movement is not normal. Kindly tell me that is constipation common during FIP treatment of a cat??? Awaiting for your kind reply
Hello, sorry I missed this. Check with your vet of course, but you can use some pumpkin or winter squash baby food added to the canned food.
@@HolisticVet Thank you for your kind reply Dr.dody.😊 The thing is that my cat's ALT and AST was raised most probably because of the remdesivir side effect and after his 84 days treatment completed his ALT and AST started to decrease and coming back to normal. I guess it was some sort of hepatic problem and surely the underlying cause was FIP. Now he is in post treatment period and it is his 44th day of post treatment period and his bowel movements are slowly and gradually coming back to normal. And one more thing is that I avoided pumpkin for his constipation because in pumpkin there is a huge amount of copper present in pumpkin which is not good for a cat whose liver is damaged so instead of pumpkin, I am giving my cat porridge with boil chicken broth for fiber.
