it’s wild that rodney childers’ resume alone is probably better than most of the entire spire shop 💀💀💀
😂😂😂
Getting that Andretti money
And thats the entire shop combined 😂
Is it really shocking a 25+ year championship veteran of NASCAR has a better resume than a 5 year old team with a lot of young talent? When did hot takes become cold takes?
@@GlitchunlockedI missed where anyone said it was supposed to be a hot take. Or even a take in general. It’s a statement
RC going to spire:🥳
RC realizing his driver will be Corey LaJoie: 😐
I don't get the hype behind Corey LaJoie, he's just not that good and only has a shot at superspeedways.
@@polycube868no one can bring out a caution like Corey can lol
@@polycube868is that the car or the driver though? It's not uncommon at all for small teams to be good at superspeedways but have absolutely no speed anywhere else. McDowell pretty much built Front Row into the team they are now on plate tracks and road courses. Now they are a top 15 team most weeks. JTG Daugherty has never built a truly competitive car but Stenhouse is a threat every time we go to Daytona. Kyle Busch has kind of proven that RCR is a b tier team at best, yet Austin Dillon seems to steal a plate win every other year.
Point being that LaJoie only being competitive at plate tracks is a referendum on spires cars, not necessarily LaJoie's skill. I think spire knows this too, which is why they are bringing in Childers, hoping to add speed to the cars, and also bringing in McDowell who has proven he can make the most of the current schedule which is heavy on plate tracks and road courses.
@limprooster3253 Hocevar's first ever Cup start last year in that cat he was running better than Lajoie in a Hendrick car. It's the driver
Well, when Lajoie is outperformed by Hocevar and McDowell next year, he won't have any excuses left to give.
I have been saying for 3 years now, Lajoie is this decade's Matty D. He looks great 3 times in a as many years and then falls on his face, even in the lower series.
Lajoie has the natural talent to bring out multiple caution flags and get the crew chief home before the race ends.
Pretty much lol
Spire got McDowell and Rodney Childers, but not together, so get ready for disappointment another year.
facts! The dude has wrecked out of most races this year.I think he went from being humble to being brash. It hasn't been a good look for him.
Their still collecting paychecks must be doing something right
@@jamesdanylin7414 nepotism?
Why didn't they put him with the 71 team McDowell and Childers are playoff caliber
As I understand it, Travis Peterson is McDowell's guy and he is expected to follow him to Spire.
That’ll happen the following season after LaJoie accomplishes absolutely nothing next year even with Childers.
Mcdowell being so overrated needs studied by psychologists. Almost as bad as cup champion Zane Smit... i mean Truck series champion Zane Smith, sorry its just with how overrated he is youd think he won a cup chip. Yall really be hyping up bums for no reason then clown on an Alex Bowman lol.
@@James3zington McDowell is hyped up because of his ability to improve teams. He improved LFR, and he turned FRM into nearly playoff caliber. He nearly made the playoffs last year on points (and then dominated the Indy Road course so points became irrelevant), which is unheard of in an FRM car. He had a better average finish in 2022 in an FRM car than Kyle Busch in a JGR car and Reddick in a RCR car. His best seasons at FRM are leaps and bounds better than anyone else has ever done at the team. So that’s why he’s hyped up. If you can contend to make the playoffs for FRM on points, you’re probably pretty good.
@@handsomedevil4928 Don’t forget getting thrown around by a much smaller Daniel Suarez. McDowell is a doughnut 🍩
Corey better be stacking dimes instead of pennies next year.
Childers to Spire is definitely not where i expected him to go. Excellent hire for a team that's still improving.
Corey will win next year
Lol @@GracieSkywalker
I was half expecting him to take Andy Petrees place at RCR, he seems fit for more of a competition director role at a historic but struggling team
Corey will fail next year and be out of Cup by 2026
@@HughWanztino Nah
The nascar electric prototype definitely got media attention. Our local New Jersey news had a quick segment about it and they’ve never talked about nascar before
Fits the agenda
@@Crustychevrolet 🙄
@@ZVPieGuy it is what it is.
They should've paired him with McDowell instead of Lajoie.
Or hocevar
He’ll be with someone else the next year after Lajoie disappoints again
One bit of news that may not be big, but Chase Briscoe will be racing on Canadian Dirt at Ohsweken Speedway this Thursday in the NASCAR Canada series.
6:05 they arent going to listen to us, they are going to do what they want to do
Been here for a while and the content is still great 👍
Thanks for the support :)
Make the EV an exhibition series at select tracks and run Thursday or Friday night with drivers from the top levels of NASCAR.
Been fun keeping up with your power rankings this season. Hope jt continues to be a segment next year
I talked to ABB rep, no one has anything to worry about. The car at this point is ONLY for short tracks and road course. Rep said car depends on heavy breaking to recharge battery. He advised to not expect to see the car at Talladega or a mile and a half anytime soon
Don't wanna see it anywhere
@@davids5006 only as a fourth NASCAR series that's all EV's.. otherwise, stay away.
@@davids5006Do you always cry when you see change?
@@LOOKBEHINDYOUN0W only when it's the wrong changes
@@LOOKBEHINDYOUN0W making a statement isn't crying lol didn't you learn any better than that or did your parents fail you on that also?
You know Eric is kind of interesting kind of interesting Tyler Reddick is always at the top but you never hear about his teammate
Reddick outperforms Wallace regularly. Difference between competing for wins and competing to sneak in the playoffs
I agree with your top 10. But chase Elliot was running 14th until the last turn when Danial Suarez put him in the wall. But nobody is even talking about that.
Because all of the idiots are so focused on what Bubba did
Has LaJoie even ran a clean race all season long? Surprising and intriguing move.
No he's been a 1 man wreck fest.
It amazes me how some people think he’s such a good driver. He seems to cause a lot of issues
What’s interesting to me with the whole Thad Story is how wherever he goes, he always brings his number 46. Kind of reminds me of Brendan Gaughn in later years mostly repping the 62 no matter what team he was on. One day I’d like to know what the process is for securing numbers and if said process is different for a driver to own it or a team to own it
Thad runs the 46 because hes the grandson of Richard Petty in case you didnt know
@@ryder_williams I knew that, but I’m curious as to what a driver has to do to secure the rights to a number so they can bring it wherever they go
I have no idea why LaJoie even has a RIDE let alone such a legendary crew chief. Who wants to crew chief the guy with 0 wins in any of the top 3 series? People seem to glaze over him for absolutely no reason.
Dude has been a caboose for 10 years, a crew chief isn’t the problem. They’re wasting Rodney’s talent on the 7.
Wood Brothers drop the fucking ball BIG TIME!
In my power rankings will put SVG because he has now won the last three road course races in the Xfinity series
Woah, didn’t expect this move! Interested to see how things will go with him, Lajoie, and with Spire next year.
Kind of seems like Front Row Motorsports has been missing out in free agency . . . McDowell is leaving, didn't sign Berry, didn't sign Childress . . . I hope they have something planned
They confirmed they are buying a third charter and we don’t even know who’s taking over the #34, let alone that third car. I would assume Gragson is a safe bet for one, but there’s tons of options for that third car. Could be Preece, could be Herbst, we don’t really know though.
They’ve got a big press conference for Wednesday
they have Burton,Preece, and gragson to sign
@@Kurtbuschfan97 Not to mention maybe stealing Xfinity drivers. Herbst, Sam Mayer, etc
@@Kurtbuschfan97god no. Preece is trash and so is Burton.
Good evening Eric
It's tough for anyone trying to catch up to Hendrick/Gibbs/Penske. As good as Childers is, i think these outfits need the next Letarte/Evernham/Knaus to make the leap. Have to find that game changer.
I think the electric series would be interesting. Strategy is going to be wild! Are they going to pit one time and charge for an hour or will they try to split the run and charge for two 30 minute pit stops.
Could we ever see something like in F1 where the car has electric components that give a sort of boost to power?
Can I add … that dale jr crew chef . Steve .. worked there for few years now
Believe he crew chiefed the 7 in a race during the FOX half of the season...Bristol dirt race '22 I think it was.
Can’t wait until they have to change a battery in the pits on an EV racers
Crawl back in your cave ....
Corey is a back of the pack journeyman. In a great year he might finish 20th. He’s no Kevin Harvick and Rodney is likely to regret this move.
Sorry that the Faction46 thing didn't work out. When those first 3 weeks rolled in (along with the sub-30th place finishes), I had a feeling that it was going to be a long inaugural season for them. Apparently, it seems it'll be the only season.
It's unfair to blame Brad for his late poor finishes. In Nashville, he was in the top 5 for most of the race before he got wrecked by Larson, and he was poised to finish in the top 5 before he got door-slammed by Gibbs! And on a road/street course, he did great!
@eric agree with the ranking. You did miss to mention the beef between Chase and Suarez that cost Chase the streak on the last lap.
The EV with those graphics looks like a road rally car
Just checked the entry list for the xfinity series race and Josh Berry will be in the #15 seat!
Without knowing all the details, it does seem like Penske / Wood Bros missed an opportunity here to bring in a great mind with outside experience that could have helped lift the whole organization. I hope they at least thought about it…
You can tell from my username where my allegiances lie... don't sleep on Brad and RFK in the playoffs. I would not say that shorter ovals have been Ford's strength, but moreso just Penske's. RFK has shown awesome speed at intermediates... Chris Buescher almost won Kansas, Brad won Darlington, and Brad almost won Charlotte. Not to mention the fact that Brad had great speed at Nashville until he got caught up in the incident with Austin Dillon. As an RFK fan, I feel really good about the chances of Brad and Chris running well in the playoffs.
I have never been so happy to be in Eric’s top ten!!!!
Hey Eric, I was listening to Actions Detrimental this week and caught something interesting. At roughly 27:30-28:00, Denny talks about the performance difference between the wet versus the slick tires at Chicago. He then goes on to briefly mention that Goodyear is running an option tire at Richmond in the Fall. I know this subject has been discussed at length, but I’m curious regarding your thoughts and was wondering if you’d would do a video about the potential impact that an option tire during a points race could have? Especially with Bristol, Martinsville, and Phoenix in the Playoffs.
Eric, i think you are sleeping on BK with the Chicago finish. He was top 10 til that 9 99 bump but a top 10 at an "Road Course" for BK is magic from him
True.
He's sleeping on the top 2 fords tbh Blaney had top 5 cars for 4 of the past 5 weeks and Brad should've finished better on Sunday.
Gragson to Front Row tomorrow afternoon will be the next domino to fall.
“12:08” - Mr Krabs
I think you could argue that, Reddick is the championship favorite
As long as he doesn’t hit the wall. He needs the car to be to perfect
They already have all electric rally cars for nitro rally cars
If I am being honest, as a big Rodney Childers fan, I can't be excited about this. I don't like Corey Lajoie, and I do not think adding Childers will be enough to make a notable difference. I am happy for him though, I am sure Spire is the highest bidder, and he does deserve that.
Frankly the electric prototype excites me! It closely resembles the new car I just got, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, and I'm hoping Hyundai can come in and I'll be able to see my personal vehicle represented on a race track sometime in the future!
😂🤣
Paint it like the rainbow warriors ??😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂NO
Personally, I am just glad that the NASCAR electric prototype is not going to be replacing anything in the cup series. It's nice that NASCAR's going to have their own electric series going forward.
Eric, I know you might be scared to rank Tyler higher up than fourth since you picked him to win the championship and that didn’t go well, but he is better than fourth. He’s leading in Top 5’s and Top 10’s. He’s been the most consistent driver in the field for the last few weeks. He’s out driven his boss the last several weeks, he’s third in the regular season points and has a legitimate chance to win. Show Tyler some more love!!!
Spot on with the "pressure" comment. Lajoie will be expected to step up his performance under Childers, and should. He's a quality driver paired with arguably the best free agent crew chief out there. Another solid move by Spire.
"Quality driver" good one.
No excuses now Corey! 🚗🏁🏆
If anything can get Corey a win, its Rodney
The problem i have with the electric car isnt the theory, its that i dont trust NASCAR as far as i can throw them. They try to shuck and jive us every day, why would this be any different.
I really like Thad, i hope he gets an honest opportunity to see if he can do it
My main gripe with all the electric racing series especially formula e is the lack of development in battery storage and charging tech. As someone who isn’t against evs on principle, I understand the drawbacks especially the lack of range compared to the most fuel efficient ice engines and the current charging tech. That needs to be improved for evs to be a long term solution.
Man, did they have the electric car making a run on the track? What’s the point of showing it if no one’s gonna give it a demo drive? Should’ve had Martin Truex or somethin run a few laps with it as promo for the car.
New technology.
How about a new designer.
Clean slate is a great time to come up with a great design.
Just from the look of the prototype alone, the Mach E and the Blazer EV would definitely be candidates for which cars Ford and Chevy would race in an all electric series.
I don’t know why Childers didn’t go to WBR with Berry, but I think Penske was stupid for passing on him. Why wouldn’t Penske want that talent? Guess those pockets aren’t as deep.
Eric. do you have a VLOG from Atlanta? will be going for the firat time this yr and enjoy your from the track videos. gives me a sneak peek
If rodney did go with josh berry to the 21, i feel that wouldn't have been a good enough situation for them as the 21 is kinda a r&d team for penske, and it might've made more sense to put berry and rodney in the 2 and move cindric to the 21
I’m so surprised with Dickerson and Kyle Busch’s past relationship that Kyle didn’t sign with spire. They would have gave him everything he needed to compete.
Thanks Eric. For what you do . Great News Coverage Today. 2025 is Going to be a Wild Year
Never doubt that some people have bought into years of fossil fuel/coal industry propaganda to the point where they basically have a violent reaction to any sustainable/green/electric technologies as though the very existence of these things offends them personally. So even though NASCAR is clear they aren't replacing any existing series with an electric car and cars with 1300 bhp are inherently awesome no matter the tech, I fully expect these people to throw a tantrum on the internet which will dominate the conversation because they will be yelling the loudest.
Spire is clearly planning for a big jump in 2025. They feel like they’re ready to win now, with signing guys like McDowell and Childers. 2025 seems like a make or break year for Lajoie.
Spire Motorsports also recently partnered with, then seemed to have taken over, Clauson Marshall Racing who fields the 7bc 410 winged sprint car. The Clauson Marshall 7bc has been the team to beat within Tony Stewert’s All Star series over the past few years. This year, the 7bc is showing to be one of the best 410 winged sprint car teams in the U.S.
Spire wrote Childers a big check, something the Wood Brothers couldn’t do.
Who thinks Ricky Thornton Jr is going to the rumley 6
Does rumley want to run a full season, might be too late to get funding
@SamuelWillenbrink I think he probably has sponser funding, and longhorn is going to try to keep him at all costs. Could also be the Cooney Motorsports team
I hope this change can help get Lajoie run up front, would love to see him racing for wins. No opinion on the electric car as long as it’s another series or a 1 or 2 race a year thing but I don’t see nascar switching to electric for many years if ever.
As a big fan of Corey LaJoie, back to the “Sunday Money” days, I am thrilled for him. I am hoping he can handle the new added pressure on him with Childers coming in as his crew chief.
Like the wicked witch of the west Denny is afraid of the rain and shrinks when confronted by it. If we're being honest I think Christopher Bell should be number one, he has had some great finishes the last 3 or 4 weeks he's had some great finishes. He has been better than Kyle Larson
Going to pocono for the first time ever! Any advice??? Haven't been to a nascar race since 98. Hope we have a great time at pocono. Been on my bucket list for a long time.
nice back ground for the ev car.
He deserves so much better than Lajoie
Who’s excited about the FRM driver announcement coming tomorrow at noon??
Love this channel. Helps me know The latest NASCAR news😊.
I wonder if Spire suffers the same fate as Rodney's old teams such as MB2, MWR and SHR? In addition, what is the long term future of Niece besides getting some help from Trackhouse? Staying in the truck series long term because things looked crowded right now in the Chevy truck camp!
Definitely should crew chief the 77. The staggering improvement from 2023 with a rookie, Childers could make that kid a playoff contender as he gains experience
I'm sorry but I believe all these team's, haven't caught up. The spec car that is NASCAR now has the big teams come down to the level of small teams.
Dont blame him for going to Spire, they are on the up but why with Lajoie i expect one year then a new driver in the 7.
Hopefully Kyle Busch if RCR doesn't turn it around
Spire needs to put RC with one of their younger drivers. They have a garage full of young talent.
Don't buy on Pristine Auction, tends to send packages with less items than you pay for and customer service is awful. Good video anyways.
It’s break or bust for Cory next year for sure. He’s either gonna be stacking Pennie’s or stacking patties. Bestve luck to Cory for real I really hope he does well always liked mr Lajoie this is huge for him.
I really wanted Rodney and Josh to stay together, but for whatever reason the 21 team didn't want him.
The wood brothers messed up by not having Rodney Childers as his crew chef.
Completely agree. This is bad bad bad
@@rcktshp4535 i know right well I guess Josh Berry is just going to have to get used to his new Crew chef for next year oh well but it was a long shot anyway maybe Penske didn't want him or maybe he had other deals we don't quite know for sure but hope Rodney and Corey have fun at spire.
LaJoie doesn’t deserve Childers. Had hoped to see him go to Front Row
I've always liked Booty Barker, and find myself rooting for Corey LaJoie... I hope he proves himself in those fast Childers cars...!! Thanks for sharing... Keep up your awesomeness...!
PS: Electric needs to stay in buildings, not in cars...! Especially race cars...!!!!!!!!!!
Is Junior becoming a co-owner of RCR, next year?
Is KFB going to Spire, or is it more truck series stuff we're fixing to hear about? Some grumblings are humoring/rumoring around town this morning.
Kyle at Spire would be so good! Put him in the 7 let Corey LaJoie race for Beard or some of Daytona 500 only team...Kyle would give Spire a huge boost!
Maybe Dodge may come back into the sport since the car company are now making Evs
I may be in the minority, but the new two door Chargers look nice
No no dodgeStillantians it also hates American already said no to racing
I like Jeremy Bullins, but gosh I would of liked Childers to of stayed with Berry at the Wood Brother's.
Politicians never keep their word we’re gonna be racing Hoover vacuum soon
Bowman getting higher than 10th challenge impossible when it comes to Eric. LMAO
6:04 - Wrap it in Dynamite and light the fuse.... that is what I want out of it.....
Im thinking either hybrids are probably going to be the future, it makes the most sense, though potentially hydrogen could be the future after hybrids
So wonder Eric gonna give his insights on Faction 46 team Sold the team to Young Motorsports
Nooo the Rodney/Josh duo was my favorite story to follow! I hope both of them find success separated 😢
Ford really messed up letting Rodeny Childer’s get away. Front Row and Ford just showed me they don’t care about winning. I say this as the biggest Roush and Ford fan in the world.
Good for Spire Motorsport
This is a rough, silly season for Ford. First they lose Briscoe to Toyota and now they lose Childers to Chevy. It would take a big move to convince me Ford is in a better place now than they were at this time last year.
The ev just looks like a nitrocross car that they put NASCAR rims on it
Bowman has the 5th best average finish this year, that’s crazy to me
(Preface by saying not a Bowman fan, just impressed) : Bowman may not win a lot, but he's consistent as all get out. Bowman, Elliot, Brad, Truex and Blaney for some reason this year as a whole have been quietly k ocking out top 15 and above like they're going out of style. But Bowman especially just sliding under our radar
@@kevinrandolph9109 Tyler Reddick too, he needs more love for the season he’s had
@GalkisUnfiltered I didn't mention Reddick because he's usually top 5, apparently top 2 lately. He gets a lot of TV time where those others haven't. But yes you're correct
Corey Lajoie is definitely my favorite underdog but he definitely need to step up under the pressure.
