    This video sets off to list all the differences between Normal Mode and Crazy Mode that I could find, which are quite a lot of them. The idea to this video came thanks to Noadev telling me the Hard Mode of Castlevanias did more things asides from limiting your max. level, and to my surprise Lament of Innocence, as it has NO level system whatsoever chose doing things more creatively than usual.
    This video is recorded on original PAL PS2 Hardware using a very cheap capture card. The Forgotten One's crazy mode fight was mostly extracted from another youtube due to my lack of skills (it is properly listed in the credits). I completed roughly 91% of Crazy Mode an 98% of Normal Mode, so some differences may have escaped my knowledge, I did as best as I could.
    Thanks for watching, I hope to make more stuff like this on the far future.

    You also forgot to add that your item carrying capacity has also been cut in half

      @@fiestakaharriva You're good dude and you were right on the money with everything else.Crazy mode is literally crazy given how much utter crap the game throws at you.My very first attempt I chickened out after seeing the encounter in the tutorial room with the first relic. If you're going to the difficulty blind you're going to be constantly asking yourself in this get any worse.The pendulum and spike rooms made me seriously question if the developers even intended for the mode to be beaten at all.

    God damn, that was a mighty in-depth analysis. Didn’t think there were still Castlevania fans out there that were invested into Lament of Innocence as much. Good on ya.

    Thank you for making this video, I was about to get a copy of this game sooner or later again, but I never knew there was a hard mode, until now. I definetly will have my "fun" wandering through this maze of a castle again in a even more difficult version (even thought I forgot many things about the game).

    The funny thing is that some of the obstacles in Crazy Mode are easier than in Normal mode, like those platforms in the Anti-Soul. I cannot tell you how many times I fell from those because I jumped too far or I couldn't reach the last ones at the top. By learning the timing, I could do that in like the second or maybe first go.

      Yeah, it's as if they want to make normal mode more gimmick based and crazy mode more skill based. There's not much skill you can put on intermitent lasers, tho.

    • @DivineSoldierofGrace
      @DivineSoldierofGrace Před 2 lety +1

      @Charles Hastings You would have to be a true God at Castlevania to even accomplish that.Thr hardest imposed challenge I did is what I like to call Insanity Mode.Crazy difficulty, no cloning glitch,no using health recovery items,no accessories,whip of alchemy only until Walter/Death because plot, also no armor , Utility Relics that don't enhance stats, orbs are ok, and lastly beat all bosses.I tried doing Forgotten One with whip of alchemy only but having all those restrictions actually made you realize how impossible that boss is on that difficulty. Whip of ice and recovery items are permitted for Forgotten One only.Almost forgot to mention no grabbing HP, Heart, and MP up except the mandatory HP up from Doppleganger 2

    As someone who played crazy mode and not beating it yet, this overview confirms somethings that I thought and experienced. Things I did not know where the lack of stats and boss patters. I know I did well on crazy only due to the manipulation glitch which honestly, I think was put there to compensate crazy mode as it breaks normal mode. But just having abit more knowledge helps. Good video.

      @@fiestakaharriva The item manipulation glitch, in the room with the save point right before the hub room in the middle candlestand, a few feet from it, if you position yourself correctly you can mulitiply your inventory items up to x9 of said item, vert easy to stock up on health potions and buying expensive item early.

    May I ask you about the music?
    The piece at 1:55 after Anti-Souls Mysteries Lab; the piece that follows, which starts at 2:51; and the Symphonic Rock piece that starts at 7:33?

    • @fiestakaharriva
      @fiestakaharriva  Před rokem +1

      I can't remember the exact name for 1:55 but it is from the Anime Elemental Gelade
      The next one is Golden Slaughterer from Umineko, and the third one is Helado's theme from Lords of Thunder. They all have a very good overall soundtrack, totally a blast if that peak at their style enticed you.
