The time it took you to paint your masterpiece I've managed a few lines, splatters and a general mess. I've never spent soooo much time thinking about milk consistency 😂😂. Time to get saving for better paint.
looks good, I don't paint on white usually, I'll do grey card/paper then black with grey/white highlights. or cream card with sepia and brown/white highlights. I've also started using createx water based recently. but to be honest, if its card or paper I prefer using the daler and rowney FW airbrush acrylics, the small bottles with the eyedropper. they also do system 3 now in airbrush bottles but I haven't tried them yet.
your confidence on that trigger is perfect matey...ive had a 7 year layoff from airbrushing....been a tattooist for 21 years...i do a lot of portraits and realism in the shop....ive just got back into the airbrush and i cant stop again....i used to use a hiline + and a v1 micron....the micron i never used...just stared at it as an ornament as it was so expensive...just started using it and what a difference....that old hiline kept clogging and you never knew what was going to happen when you bumped that trigger...10 seconds painting with 10 mins of cock up correction each time..started with createx...then autoair then wicked colours....i couldnt control that airbrush for sht but carried on....started using comart and illustration...now im on parr and enjoying the airbrush rather than showing the misses what a frustrated angry moron i could be throwing airbrushes at the wall in the art room
I've been using Createx illustration colors for quite a while and found that I like using distilled water to reduce it rather than the Createx 4011 reducer. However, I do use the 4011 reducer for all the other paints in the Createx line. Maybe you can compare using distilled water vs 4011 reducer with the illustration colors. Thanks, awesome portrait!
Yes will give it a go thanks for the feedback much appreciated 👍
i used createx line and had a hard time with them until i found the illustration....vallegio, comart was cool but very thin paint if your painting on anything other than paper
Interesting news about Golden. Being from the US, there seems to be a lot of love for Createx over here, can't wait to hear your impression of the paint.
Hi yes looking forward to using the createx next see how we get on
Like damn that's a 98% match it's crazy to me how humans can replicate this with just paint always blows my mind I hope to learn how one day just got no time.
I'm not an artist but want to dabble in some airbrushing on 1/9 scale fantasy figures, your portraits are utterly amazing well done being a bit of a photographer in my spare time I really appreciate the amount of work you put in thanks for the great channel just bought the Creos PS 290 for base coating & varnishing after seeing your review.
Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏 the creos is brilliant just remember to keep the fan cap clean it's best to soak that in thinners now and again
There is a video on the channel on how to strip and clean it 👍
Nice looking work as always. I never tried Golden. I have a set of Tim’s inks. Which I’m still learning to use.I have createx and other paints. I also have com-art which I never figure out the trans black or the smoke gray. I like what you have been posting.
Thank you 👍 going to try the createx illustration next 👍I have some com art but didn't last long that stuff seems very washed out sprays easy
Thanks for the feedback much appreciated
The sharpness you get on that treated paper is the nutz mukka cant wait to see what you achieve with your new paints 😊😊😊😊
I think you're on the right track with Illustration Colours transparents... they're so much more erasable than Golden, you can erase into them hours after laying the paint down.
Great stuff looking forward to trying them out thanks for the feedback much appreciated
sir i really wanna learn to airbrush portraits with out stencils, or paper cutouts...maybe just erasers and tools ,etc
I was wondering if golden had changed, as ive been looking for the shading grey, but finding the colours listed as just golden fluid... A bit more digging may bring up some answers, will be a shame if they've scraped the Highflow range and changed the formula.
Yes definitely the two bottles I perched last are definitely different when it comes to how they flow I have to thin the transparent shading grey right down
That never used to be like that
@@dredfxcustompaint have you tried the golden HF medium, although that would slow the drying time down...
@@pigmentsplatter yes I have that as you say slows it down still have to add water with it 🙁its just not the same transparent
Very nice portrait as always Rob it's great to see how it slowly comes alive and pops out of the paper, it must be very frustrating when a brand of paint that you have used and relied on for a long while suddenly becomes unreliable and not the good product it used to be.
I don't know why they would change it as it will hurt the sales but I guess it's a cost cutting thing by using cheaper and weaker pigments, I hope the new ones work for you🤞👍
