Paige goes back in the game steals the ball and makes and assist. She’s either scoring or assisting. She is either making things happen for not just herself her team mates. She deserved the MVP
Sorry to say I do not like USA's coach..... The starting 5 should be Paige, Celeste, Catlin, Boston, Howard..... The score should have been 100+ to 61 or less.....Paige 20 points, Celeste 20 points, Catlin 25 points, Boston 15 points, Howard 15 points then the rest pick up 5 or more points!!!!!!!!!! They did not let Catlin play much, score or shoot... what ever... she is the best shot and second best play making G on this team!!!!! Van Lith the "Dribbler" is a gal off the bench not starting but her college coach I believe is the same coach!!!
#15 Germany deserves a sportsmanship award , period!!she was so nice to Aaliyah Boston #14.And tbh nowadays people don’t appreciate sportsmanship but its good to know that people still have it.😆😤

11:43 USA SLOB Cross screens, loop cut by inbounder Van Lith, ball screen for her strong left hand drive, while Bueckers get screen to opposite corner. Big changes sides on drive. Great spacing.
U.S. has two outstanding outside shooters in Van Leith and Buechers and yet the coaching staff has the team trying to force the ball inside against taller, agile defenders... get a new coach or wise this one up because that's not a good strategy at all.
47:18 GER Corner SLOB, zipper cut and immediate look to high post. Again, high post player should have sealed her defender, but they get away with it as #7 Taylor gambles on defense and just misses the steal. Excellent footwork by #9 on the catch and shoot. She plants her right foot before the catch, drags her left foot and releases the shot as soon as possible.
56:55 USA "over/under" Iverson cut to successive ball screens for Clark by 5 and 4. Boston gets ball about 17 feet from basket on first ball screen and creates good 1 on 1 opportunity with her patience and use of the dribble. Hillmon gives a flare screen to Clark, spaces the floor, and then goes to rebound the miss.

52:28 GER Nice set out of the timeout. 4 out-1in, guard to wing DHO with guard to wing exchange on weakside, then post to guard ball screen. If you freeze at 52:40, #16 has two different windows for a bounce pass the the rolling big (both defenders are tall and have their hands high). Instead she tries a one-handed lob pass while jumping, over the 6'6" defender. Good luck with that. Also, #17 set a good screen, be she should have rolled faster to the rim once her defender hedged on #16.

31:50 GER Nice loop cut and high post feed to begin zone offense. But #11 is not enough of a threat at the high post. No shot fake, and she could have split Clark and Taylor on the catch.

15:50 USA Nice Blob, 3 quick screens one after the other to reverse ball, then high-low game, then kickout to Bueckers who attacks the closeout. Again, excellent spacing.
48:52 GER SLOB Mediocre spacing, but good job by #21 sealing Hillmon at the high post, and nice little down screen by #9 for inbounder for pass back and made 3-pt.

Don Cummings, I agree with you because they had a much better head coach and coaching staff. They had interchangeable players; they had Haley Jones and Horston as their forwards and both of them could bring the ball down the floor to start the fast break. Also they had Azzi Fudd the best point guard in the country, but she torn her ACL and was out for the year, so they had to put Paige #5 at point guard and Paige is a two guard. Van Lith #9 is a horrible point guard, don't get me wrong she is a good player. But until she learns how to play the point she won't make it because she's too short to play the two and she's a ball stopper with all her dribbling instead of getting her teammates into the flow of the offense.

55:10 USA BLOB 1-4 low, throw over defense to Hillmon, who fakes a handoff and gets a 1 on 1 iso. Pass to Van Lith who is in triple threat off the catch. I like the post up by Boston at 55:20. Pass fake by Van Lith freezes her defender. Boston steps out to make room for the drive. USA will run the same BLOB at 57:52, but this time Hillmon gives the handoff.

The USA coach for the U18 & 19 is AWFUL! He really needs to be replaced, the coach of the U17 that won the world cup in 2018 should coach the 18 & 19 she is much better. Van Lith got exposed today by Germany.

Really have to question the selection process when players like Fudd, Jones and Horston were left off of the roster. Fudd is easily the best guard in the group. It' is a real head scratcher.
plusEV you're right and how is #11 Hillmon playing more than #15 Bebei? #11 is to short to play the post and to slow with no skill set to play the wing. No structure in the half court offense, he overloads one side of the floor in the pressure defense (a tripple team with no one covering the weakside) it's a good thing it wasn't against a better team.
Troy McDaniel Yeah also last game Cameron brink had 2 blocks and 6 points off the bench and she only played like 4 minutes but today she wasn’t used at all like she’s 6’4 and could probably dunk! the dude can’t coach they look sloppy and out of sorts you’re right they really need a new coach.🤦🏽♀️

Shannon Bobbit won an NC for Pat Summitt she is 5 ft o ... just sying !!!1 Peace love a Basketball ..

she's played alot this summer. also won the 3x3 international tourney w/the USA team a few weeks ago.
She can jump, she always hustle back on defense, and she creates plays I don’t see what you are saying.

Hmm...cannot help but notice that during the respective national anthems all of the German girls were singing their anthem, but when it came to the U.S. not one American girl was singing. In fact, chewing gum and looking quite bored were some. Most of our girls probably did not know the words to our anthem, and it is a very complex song to sing...gotta admit!
