    This is the clearest explanation on CZcams. Great presentation, clear speech , direct to the point. Your use of the large drawing on the white board is great for a laptop screen or even a phone. You have good teaching skills. Job very well done.!. Real views of wires being attached and commentary excellent

    I have a Leeson 1/2 hp motor. It has P1, P2, T2, T3, T4, T5, T8 wires. In the 110vac configuration P1 goes to line, P2 , T3, T8 are Taped, T2, T4, T5 are line. T5 and T8 are the wires that are interchanged in order to reverse rotation. I have a Dayton Drum switch that has the L , and upside down L configuration. Top to bottom on the switch would be 1 and 2, then 3 and 4, and then 5 and 6. Forward configuration would be 1,2, and 3 / 4,5, and 6. In reverse 1,2 and 4 / 3,5 and 6. So how do you wire this 7-wire single phase motor? Just trying to hook up my lathe so I have forward and reverse without burning up a motor. Great videos!

    Nicely done Imat.. it obviously works.. but i would have thought looking at the diagram that T2 T4 and T6 would have been isolated not not connected to line 2 as it doesn't have a connecting line coming out of it like the other group does.

    I have a motor with the same wiring as this video and a drum switch with the same configuration as this one. I am trying to wire it in 220V single phase but can not get it to run in both directions with the drum switch. can you please help me. I watch your 220 volt video but it has a different drum switch wiring configuration. Maybe I need to get a different drum switch but I would like your recommendation first. Amazing timing. I have a very similar motor that I am hoping to install to replace a cooked one on a lathe I bought. Mine has a T5 (otherwise EVERYTHING else on this same Vevor motor is the same) which is supposed to be Line 1. The T3/T4/T7/T9 bundle wants to be bonded to eachother and insulated otherwise.

    How can I wire a limit switch on the reverse side but still have the forward still work, once the reverse is limited out? Application is for pulling a boat out of the water, but I want it to stop when it hits the limit but be able to let it go back down. 120v motor, Dayton drum switch and industrial limit switch. Thanks

    • @Mikesfilmss
      @Mikesfilmss  Před 18 dny

      That's a cool project and problem. I'm not saying it's impossible but most of my experience with these switches is for lathes. I think to add more control capabilities you would need to move/add to a basic motor control or PLC. I wish I could help but there are limitations with the amount of contacts of the switch and 120v motors. I hope you find a way to do it.

The side of my drum switch that has label L1 and L2 has L1 with jumpers to the two ports above it so vertical from top to bottom i have 9, 5 and L1. To the left i have from top to bottom 11, 7 and L2. Direct opposite side is 10, 6 and T1 on left and T9, T8 and T2 on right. Help me get through this and I'll never do it again
