  • Over the years, Vaea Verbeeck's career has evolved through her decade-long partnership with Rocky Mountain. From downhill World Cup racing to multiple Queen of Crankworx titles, she was introduced to the freeride world at Red Bull Formation in 2019 and has since shifted her focus.
For Vaea, North Cowichan, BC, on Vancouver Island, is the perfect home base. Surrounded by a strong and supportive riding community, numerous trail networks, airbag facilities, and local dirt jumps, she has everything she needs to keep progressing and pushing herself.
Tag along as Vaea shows us why she loves to call the island home, highlighting her day-to-day life, the tight-knit community, and the local spots that inspire her.

If one day I get the chance to ride with a pro rider, Vaea would be my pick. Smooth, seems relaxed with a great personality. Loved the progression skit!

Vaea is so cool! She biked with the kids in Taupō New Zealand and was such an inspiration!

Awe! That's too sweet. I remember that day like it was yesterday. Bikes for all! Hope to catch them again when they're all grown up and still loving days spent on bikes! Cheers! (Actually just checked out the video we made from that day in 2021. April, was that little girl's name :P amongst a ton of kids ripping the Taupo jump lines that day. Sweet sweet memory! Thanks!)

Sick to see the Island getting big into biking. More good locations, ever growing community, and lots of ways to grow the sport and the talent. I remember when I first got into MTB in the 90's, going to visit my parents in Victoria from Vancouver and thinking why isn't MTB a thing here? So much good terrain. Living in Rossland now and I don't get over there nearly enough, not that I'm not lucky with what we have here either.

De voir quelqu'un de chez nous, rider dans une place paradisiaque comme l'ouest canadien. Vraiment cool. :)

My kid bikes at the Stevie Smith park all the time, lived in Nanaimo 13 years and it's been great
