Good advice Dena. Lots of times folk panic I think and jump to the first few threads or videos they find online which isn't always right or the only information available to help identify and then remedy what the issue may be.

Thanks Dan. I don't understand this type of thinking. Something has changed and people head straight for with the drugs, instead of evaluating the situation, using proper quarantine practices and giving the fish the best chance to recover. Medications have their place, but only when used properly.

@@EverythingaquaticNet yeah it's definitely an attitude that needs to change. It's pretty bad in the Betta world. Even if the first response of clean water and time I'd be looking for more natural responses such as tannins from botanicsls and aquarium salt before reaching for the hard mess.
Hope your video reaches a lot of people and helps to reverse that type of thinking.

Hoping you see this… I just got 2 angel fish from Petsmart and just realized it looks like they’re fins are in really bad shape can’t tell if they’re fins are growing back or if it’s rotting is there a way I could show you??

New fin growth starts off clear, then will color up a few days later. Fin rot is dark, often black, very jagged and sloughing off.
Since you just got them, start off with small daily water changes. See if the fins repair themselves in 1-2 weeks.

@@EverythingaquaticNet my fear is that they will pass it on to my other angel fish that I’ve had already I don’t have an extra quarantine tank 😞

@@milagrostrujillo4363 Use a plastic tote box or a 5 gallon bucket for QT. Just need to keep it warm enough. Daily water changes and you become the filter.
Never a good idea to not QT, especially purchases from local chain stores.

@@milagrostrujillo4363 Could be the start of disease if you're seeing a fluffy, cotton-like substance on the fins.
