  • Sweden has become a European hotspot for deadly shootings, rocking its reputation as a safe and peaceful nation. Last year, a record 62 people were killed in gun violence in the Nordic nation, which has a population of just ten million. Over 50 people have died so far in 2023.

But in Järva, one Stockholm neighbourhood that experienced high levels of deadly violence a few years ago, the number of fatal shootings has decreased. Police say that is partly due to closer community collaboration. We meet some of the volunteer nightwalkers who regularly patrol the area, to try and stop young people from being recruited by criminal networks, and help locals feel safer.

We know the shootings are caused by members from the religion of peace diaspora who have immigrated to the area. I am an Indian immigrant. You will not find Indians involved in this rubbish for the most part. But this is what causes the indigenous population to look down at folks like me . Why not practice selective immigration????? Why bring in a diaspora that are know to be trouble makers to the detriment of the immigration policy???

Would it surprise you to learn that minorities other than Indians tend to be much poorer than the rest. There have been studies that find a link between income and crime, where crime is a rational decision when you have no income elsewhere. Its a spurious correlation you have drawn between ethnicity and crime whereas there IS a causal link between ethnicity and income and between income and crime. I am not from Europe, but i think its too late now for Sweden to act on migration. Only now they are considering closing their doors to migration, but its too late

To counter the criminologists comment of it being an inconvenience to crime, if you have enough walkers or law enforcement presence, it becomes impossible. The more eyes you have, the lower the percentage gets. Cameras are good post-incident, HUMINT is the key.
