Leo played the hell out of his character giving such a authentic physical performance...and the filmmaker was just brilliant...he made us feel like we were there with them.

Yes, but it wasn't bad, on either side.
I don't know why but I got goosebumps when he said he wanted to eat that liver because what the food prop was didn't look real. That's just one tiny example on why he is an amazing actor.
So down to earth! He said very clearly. He does movies because, he loves it. The feeling that it gives him.
this film was a triumph of movie making and Dicaprio busted his ass to do the more physical aspects of those complex shots. if the man doesn't win the oscar i think the oscars need to die

The amount of work he put into this is unbelievable. The team he worked with contributed things you wouldn’t even think of. Lots of hard work. Well deserved Oscar.
Tom Hardy is my only favorite actor, however, DiCaprio deserves the Oscar for this captivating movie. The cinematography was outstanding, the bear attack so brutal and life like. Also don't forget, that attack actually happened to Hugh Glass who was a fur trapper as were the majority of hair faces (white men) during that time period.

I hope Revenant racks up all the Oscars. And I'm writing to Alejandro Inarritu to ask him to make a movies about Cynthia Ann Parker (renamed Nadau) who lived happily with Comanches after being kidnapped at age 7, along with her brother and cousin.
Now that Alejandro has some knowledge of that time period, maybe he will consider it. I would like Jennifer Lawrence to play Nadua and cast Tom Hardy in it as well. However, I would like the cast to be genuine Native Americans.

Well it's based off a true story and apparently the real guy, Hugh Glass, was even more injured and he survived

Leo is my favourite actor, and the best response was that the reason he does these movies is because he loves doing movies. The best reason to do anything in life is because you love it, not because you aim for an Oscar. That being said... this man deserves an Oscar! I've never watched a bad Leonardo DiCaprio movie!
