This would probably take twice as long as post hole diggers since you spin it by hand and it only cuts maybe an inch per 2 rotations, not to mention if there's clay in the area
Overall you might be exerting less energy using this rather than post hole diggers though. It takes a lot to slam those things into tough soil, then to use your arms, shoulders, and back muscles to spread the handles, it’s rough.
I live on a farm in North Carolina and we just have one that attaches to the back of our tractor it's called an "auger" magical I know, it's used to dig holes for fence posts, for anyone who doesn't know somehow.
I don’t think this guy thinks the saw teeth matter either. I think the point was just showing someone with an idea making something work for them from what they had available. We shouldn’t scoff at ingenuity just because our frame of reference may be different. Good for him.

Usually you would want something long and skinny like a hog bar to pack the dirt down deeper around it or it will likely shift over time mainly from rain. It also helps to pour a concrete base in the hole and set it in the wet concrete to dry. And one more thing is that if you somehow figured out how to make this tool fit into a power drill or something it would take less time to drill the hole, or if your just not as mechanically minded you can just rent an auger for like $30-$50. (Still very clever👍)

Nice to have soft dirt like that with no rocks or gravel.
I got coral
That's what I was thinking. I sifted out a garden patch last spring, and I'm pretty sure I had more rocks than dirt when I was finished.
Hhhchhxh

every 5 cm i dig there are rocks
GOT BOULDERS
I will definitely be using this in digging random holes in the ground just for my satisfaction.
😂
Mood.
If you dig deep enough, you will see China on the other side 😎
Should pour cement in there and have a few nails stick out the wood so it locks in the cement
