What is Bret Hart’s greatest ever match? Let us know in the comments below!
.SummerSlam 97: Hart & Soul
WWF Championship
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
.One Night Only 1997
WWF championship final battle
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Henning vs hart ic title and hart vs bob buckland
Bret vs Bulldog at Summerslam 92
@@Nostalgia9478 another one
@@bitesthedust ya Bret had so many great matches hard to pick it
WM8 vs Piper is criminally overlooked.
Painfully underrated
Overlooked by painful criminals.......
As a kid I hated that it was won with a roll up pin instead of a sharpshooter, but today I really like the unique victory roll.
@@starrsmith3810 Is it more painful than that thrust kick that gave Bret a concussion
Bret is absolutely right about cage matches needing to feel brutal. Since 2008 WWE cages matches are basically just regular matches with a kendo stick.
I disagree with Hell In A Cell, yes but imo you can do a great cage match without blood like Angle vs Benoit, Edge vs Angle, and Bret vs Owen
As usual, Taker is the man, even when it's the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be...
"Bret, I'm fooked. I can't remember anything!" - Davey Boy
lol
High on crack......
That SuperPlex off the top of the cage was gorgeous
The cage match with owen was an absolute work of art, everything from start to finish was just perfect!
I can hear Bret talk all day.
Get a Life you creep
Harts match with Stone Cold at wrestlemania was hands down the best.
I love the Survivor Series 96 match as well.
Imo it's his match with Owen at X. but his match with Austin is a close second
They love to cheer Bret when he takes a sip 😂 good times 👌
I was at a couple of the matches that Bret mentioned: Wrestlemania 13 and Summer Slam 1997. He always put in his all and kept me engaged in his matches.
His top matches for sure
Wm 8 against piper
Summerslam 91 vs mr perfect
Wm 10 opener against owen
Summerslam 94 cage match against owen
Summerslam 92 against davey boy
Cslgary Stampede 97
Wm 12 against shawn
Summerslam 97 match against taker.
For the fan reaction, hart foundation vs strikeforce for the tag titles.
King of the ring 93 vs perfect agsin.
You know your matches sir, but you omitted the Bret Hart vs Diesel Survivor Series '95 No Holds Barred match.
Royal rumble against taker was good too
WM 13 against Stone Cold
Taker and Mark Henry were telling some great Owen Hart stories on Taker's YT show. Brought a smile to my face. So did this.
Mark Henry wasn't kidding when he said Owen would've been massively over now. if he talked about all his ribs alone it would last years. I enjoy interviews like these more than actual wrestling matches. 😂 I watched D-Von Dudley on Maven's, the amount of stories they have to tell.
@@mecha2001 I like hearing them talk about the craft and business. It shows how thoughtful a lot of wrestlers are. Steve Austin, for example, is incredibly smart and thoughtful. So, obviously are Bret and Mark.
Mark Henry is a good storyteller. Mark Taker should make him co-host. The Two Biggest Marks in Wrestling podcast 😆
@@djangofett4879’Mark Taker’ just messed me up 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the laugh man!
Bret Hart is the greatest professional wrestler to ever walk the Earth.
Don’t know why Bret never places his cage match with Owen as one of his favorites. It was an amazing match, story well told. I still watch it in 2024.
Bret vs Owen and Taker vs HBK where the best cage matches ever
Taker v HBK was a HIAC match, technically not a cage
@@only1icon1801 kiss my bollox mate
Yeah HBK vs Undertaker was the clear #1 best. Bret vs Owen was #2 for sure.
@@only1icon1801 kiss my bollox mate yeah
Good interview. Tbh Bret Hart vs Owen Hart should of happened at Wrestlemania 11 ending the feud there instead of having that Bob Backlund match. They did had a great match on Raw leading up to Wrestlemania.
The cage match you mean because they had the best opening wm match of all time at wm10
@willjohnboy correct but even after Summerslam they was still feeding. They did have a match on Raw in March 1995. But looking back their final match should of been at Wrestlemania 11 to end the feud. The Bob Backlund match was wack. The match he had with Bob Backlund on Superstars July 1994 was really good tho.
BRET VS TAKER,
ANY MATCH,
Except for the 1996 royal rumble, that match was a bit rough.
@@willjohnboy their 97 One Night Only was overlooked because HBK vs Bulldog was clearly the best match that night.
@@willjohnboytrue, even though Bret said 'Taker wanted to show that he could wrestle and 'Taker has confirmed that, 'Taker didn't really break out of the gimmick much, it was a very slow match lasting almost a half hour.
Bret was the guy who would "legitimize" his opponents as real wrestlers.
1:20 But it’s not real….it’s just acting. But Hart probably views professional wrestling much different than most. There are brothers in boxing that swore to their parents and to each other to never fight each other in the ring because it would be a real competition, real punches, real blood, for real money, and for real wins and losses on their boxing record. Professional wrestling is more real to some than others, and I think that Bret Hart even said as much in the “Wrestling w/ Shadows” joint.
I don't think Bret ever understood that wrestling is acting… He's from a generation where wrestlers were very insecure.
@Erlewyn his father was a promoter and keyfabe was still alive
He loved Owen too much that's a good attribute to have, plus like he said it would have upset their sons, jim cornette said I used to think bret took himself too serious, but now I wish more wrestlers took the buisness more seriously, and he apologised which is a very rare thing to hear from him.
Brets a mark. $400,000 champ more concerned with having the belt than making money 😅
@@Erlewyn That's incorrect. On multiple interviews he was always saying Wrestlers never get the praise that actors do despite Wrestlers having to be athletic actors. He knew.
At the end of the day Brett blames Goldberg for not getting a Cage match with no blood and making it boring
I never noticed about the BLOOD steel cage thing and thought the HARD steel cage match was great!!!
Ive always wondered. If brett and taker would had both been in wwe until late in their age.
Who of the two would had been the locker room leader?🤔 In terms of exp respect and work man they both pretty much on the same level.
I feel brett would slightly have a favor. There's something about him he is just so natural at leading and talking sense to people
It was Taker then and still would have been after.
@@TheJcperez1 you think so? Wouldnt taker let brett take over since brett is more vet? As in back then
40th year anniversary of Bret Hart (and Jim Neidhart) joining the WWF/E!!!
Anyway:
Bret vs Davey
Bret vs Owen (cage match)
Bret vs Shawn (ironman)
Bret vs Austin
Bret vs Undertaker
Bret vs Hot Rod
Bret vs 123 kid
Bret vs scott hall,
7:40 Texas Cloverleaf
Yeah Austin used that on Bret at Survivor Series '96.
I personally feel that Owen should've won that Steel Cage Match against Bret & become WWF Champion. I personally feel that he could've had at least one run as champion & he could've been one hell of a heel champion. Anyway, I think he could've won the title from Bret at SummerSlam 1994 & then he could've carried it all the way to WrestleMania 11 where Bret FINALLY defeats Owen in the main event in an I Quit Match, becomes a 3x WWF Champion, & officially ends the feud once & for all.
He would have if they hadn’t put the mask back on.
Bret Hart....THE MOST humble there is, most humble there was, most humble there ever will be!!
Bret used to brag about not ever losing a cage match😂❤
His WWF matches.
I was today years old when I found out that Pilman was in the Hart Foundation...
Bret should've stayed in WWF. He would've been the perfect anti-heel to Austin's anti-hero for years, and he could also have had an incredible feud with Vince and post smile Shawn.
Then again, maybe Bret left because he knew that Steve was about to take over, the same as Shawn 'retired' when Austin got big
So more than anything Bret wanted Hogan money and Vince by the end wasn't able to pay him that without screwing over like half the roster. So Vince told Bret ask Turner who could pay him that money. Interesting I listen Prichard and Eric talk about Bret in 97 and after when he was in WCW and oddly enough they both realized after comparing notes they got the impression Bret didn't want to leave but worked himself into a shoot.
Bret did want to stay. he got a lot more money per year when he went to WCW but he very specifically wanted to stay at WWF, even taking less money. vince wanted to end the contract anyway. so they worked out an exit agreement and then Vince broke the agreement.
this idea that Bret wanted exorbitant pay which was going to screw over half the roster is just completely false. look at how much money Vince paid to Mike Tyson.
BTW, Bischoff is just a liar or has a poor memory, its hard to tell. and Prichard, as likeable as he is, isnt the most reliable source either
@@djangofett4879spot on until you reach about Pritchard, he's a bigger piece of shit than Bischoff and that takes some doing
Shawn Michaels went away because of a back injury he got in a casket match against Undertaker
@@risin2thatop yes, shortly after 'losing his smile' and then when he recovered and came back, it just happened to be after Austin had retired and Rock had gone to Hollywood.
Bret had a lot of lines he wouldn’t cross 😂
Nobody is doing is homework on this one... Bret did the same finish with HBK about a year before... and I don't remember Bret ever bleeding in cages... not vs. Diesel, HBK, Yokozuna, Sid etc..
I don't think blood was acceptable to Vince until 1997
Bret couldn't get away with "Its a mistake each time"
0:25 one of my favorite moments was when Taker was doing exactly that to Shawn in the first Hell in a cell and Shawn’s blood hits the cameraman watching from below, and you just hear him say “ahhh shit!” (I wouldn’t be surprised if that part is censored on peacock now)
I rewatch that match all the time it's such a funny moment, also love the visual of Taker press slamming HBK on top of the cell
you guys could have got the man a table for his beer
Hit man was awsome ..but u can tell he goes all Bret Seagul sometimes lol
Brat vs stone cold,
Word shoot gets used A LOT
Sucks we're never gonna see Owen in the WWE HOF.
Blame Vince
Shawn had his legs tackled in the cage back in 92/93 against Bret
Lots of excellent WWF VHS Coliseum videos in the early to mid 90's. Miss those days.
More old, rehashed content?
Its really sad seing bret and thinking how vince messed over almost all the top guys who built his company.
I mean…..he looks good to be in his mid 60’s.
@starrsmith3810 he does but by sad I mean you can see this guy has been through so much and alot .from anvil and Davy being drug addicts to his brother dying after Vince screwed him .Brets been through alot .he's basically the last standing from that era of men in the family
Poor Bret Hart trying to think of his favourite match... because pretty much all of them were perfect 😂 (and probably his opponent's favourite match)...
Bret's match vs Bob Backlund at WM 11 was like his only boring bad match.
Brett sagul
Noble of Bret to refuse to do something he wasn't asked to do.
Bret's version
When it was good it was his Idea
When it was bad blame everyone else
That seems to be his narrative.
Stop BS'ing. He's taken the blame for multiple things. Watch more interviews.
Lying = Your narrative.
Got an example?
@@SaiyanScholar Here comes the Bret defenders that don't want to hear anything negative about him. Expecting him to be this perfect being all the time. I've watched many of his interviews I've also watched the man's entire career and watched all the documentaries so I think I know more about Bret Hart than you probably do. How about looking at a situation from someone else's perspective like accepting someone's apology like Shawn's and then trashing him afterwards to this day. Do nothing but trash the company that you worked for then go back to work for them. When he was happy with a match he would turn up right before the match would start so that way it didn't have time for anything to be changed. If he wasn't happy about something he'd make sure he was there on time to get it exactly how we wanted it. Yeah he was great in the ring but he done just as much politics as everybody else. When he went to WCW he thought everything was going to be about him. If he was such a genius with everything in WWE how come he didn't do that in WCW no it's all Eric bischoff's fault. So who's the one lying......your narrative.
@@only1icon1801 yes I have he likes to take credit for all the success in WWE but because it went wrong in WCW it was all Eric bischoff's fault.
@@GremlinWWE Tbf, Bischoff had no clue and answered to Hogan. So it's partly Bischoff's fault. Bret does love himself though.
One of the worst drawing champs... Bret and Shawn really made wrestling uncool throughout the 90s
The intelligent fans stayed, the dumb ones watched Hogan in WCW and his crappy film and TV.
Your father proof you can’t fix stupid.
The steroid scandal and Hogan lying about it on TV made wrestling uncool. As well as Vince McMahon admitting wrestling wasn't real in the late 80s. Both guys put huge black eyes on the business that took years to heal.
I hate how much he puts himself over and puts everyone else down.
He puts over others constantly. Your selective hearing is your problem.
That's Bret for you
Stop lying and actually pay attention.
@@bigolebotyou are Jonathan's brother
you both need to pay attention or your ears are not working
Oh you mean Bret, the same person who literally ranked his own mic skills mad low? Or did you ignore that because you didn’t bother to listen to anything unless it’s what you wanna hear. If anything Bret praises others more than he does himself.
All Bret does is whine and complain in his interviews. We get it Vince screwed you and Shawn Michaels and you didn’t get along… move on with life! Give it a rest already.
you forgot to have your feeder for the day
Stop
you crying more than Bret did in 27 years
He complains about Goldberg, Eric Bischoff, and Hulk Hogan a lot more at least lmao.
Brett Hart is the biggest Mark in wrestling. He believes wrestling is real.
It is
It's real to him...what kind of self respecting wrestler throws himself at the ground and then goes and says what he does is fake?.. an actor commits himself to a movie role ..to portraying a character and no one bats an eyelash at them but a professional wrestler can't be serious about his craft?
The bitterest there this, the bitterest there was, the bitterest there ever will be
I'm a Bret Hart fan but that is funny 😂
