Great video,1 doubt though, u said ,data wud be moved to staging area where etl wud be performed and the master data wud be moved to edw. In the demo eg, wud the process of importing 2 tables be performed on staging db and wud tjoin table be on edw ?
Yes, data is imported from the database and it is imported onto the DWH. In our case, it is Talend ETL tool.
Hope this helps :)

Hey
Up to 1:17:50 you have not mapped DB columns names in your Talend DBInput, but yet when you run it does fetch data into your tlogrow... how does it recognise or distinguish the columns ? Given that they are all varchar2 and not identified by name.
Yes, because Metadata connection has been used for DbInput. With metadata, you define the streams once, and it can be used for connecting to multiple tLogRows. Please seek to 1:12:35 to understand how I have configured Metadata configuration to DbInput.
Hope this helps :)

what is the difference between getting solution from your approach and getting solution using SQL. You will get the same output by writting a SQL query by joining 2 tables and apply the condition. why we are following datawarehousing approach to answer this, when we can use sql and can get the same output. Thanks
Hi Ankush, the important fact is that a transactional database ( even with SQL joins) doesn't lend itself to analytics. To effectively perform analytics, you need a data warehouse. A data warehouse is a database of a different kind: an OLAP database. And that's where a data warehouse comes into play.
lucid explaination :) bt the problem is .. when i put query in oraclesql developer my items are not showing ? ? why? i created table in database ? but aftr talend connection,i cant view my items in oracle database ?pls reply soon
Hey Karishma, can you please check the database you are connecting from Talend. It may be because you are connecting to some other database through Talend. If the problem persists, please elaborate you question, so that we can provide you with a better solution.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks!!
sir. it' s great session. could you please give solution for designing the warehouse tool. which is best
Thank you sir!
Hi, thanks for this video. But I have 1 question. You have 8342 customers and 50000 transactions. Result of TJoins is 8342 rows. It means that you are grouping result based on cust_id so you have to use some aggregate functions (sum, count, min, ...) on columns from transaction table. Also in final result you have invoice_no from transaction table. But I don't see any definition of these aggregating. So where is my assumptions wrong ?
Hey Vaclav, That's because of the key-dependency and not aggregation. Hope this helps!
Great info..👌👍
Can you please elaborate the point of DWH being subject-oriented?
Hey Alka, thanks for checking out our tutorial.
When we say a DWH is subject-oriented, it means that the data accessed from the DWH will answer the business problems which are posed (they answer subject-oriented queries). However, the data stored in the Database cannot answer business problems as they are only a representation of the on-going business processes.
Hope this helps. Do follow our channel to stay posted on upcoming tutorials. Cheers!
thankyou sir for sharing your knowledge
very nice information...
