  • Unparallel Climbing Shoes - Regulus vs TN Pro
    The two models are built on very similar lasts and looking at them initially, you might think that they're the same shoe just in different colours......
    We put the new TN Pros and the LV versions side by side with the Regulus' and tested them in a variety of settings to find out which ones performed better......
    We are very lucky to be supported by Dark Ventures who are the UK distributors for the Unparallel shoe range (as well as a load of other cool products), but this video is our honest feedback having used both pairs of shoes and our own personal thoughts on which model suits us and our preferred styles of climbing (and our feet!)

    So I finally got to try the TN pro at a shoe demo yesterday and the main differences for me were 1. The TN Pro is slightly less stiff and 2. Easier to get on, which for me is huge because it literally hurts my fingers to pull the regulus on. I think that tomoa probably really liked the regulus and simply wanted to make these small adjustments. Other than that they’re virtually the same shoe. But in hindsight I’d go with the TN pro all day over the regulus because of the ease to get on. They offer the same amount of support on small chips and due to the lower volume will fit most peoples feet better. I do think though that on longer climbs outdoors the regulus would offer a tad more support due to their midsole stiffness and would thus alleviate foot fatigue moreso than the TN pro.

    Nice review guys

    Nice review! I'm currently wearing the Scarpa Drago lv with size 36.5 which is a full size down from my street shoes. Since I have very narrow feet and low-volume front foot, I normally will experience quite a lot of dead space on the top surface of any aggressive climbing shoes. Is the TN pro LV narrow enough? Will you recommend downsizing for TN pro LV?

    Great to hear your opinion on the shoes guys for both indoor and outdoor use, very helpful! I was just wondering how much you decided to downsize from your street size if at all? Thanks!

      Hi Callum, glad you found the video helpful. Street shoe size depend’s on the street shoe. My Unparallel approach shoes are the same size as my climbing shoes. My TX4’s approach shoe which I had before were a couple of sizes above my unparallel climbing shoes.

    Nice review! Are they flexible enough to be a good gym shoe? I usually prefer softer shoes for gym climbing but I don't have a lot of options where I live and the Regulus is one of the less expensive high performance climbing shoes available here,

    Nice review. Could you do a review of the Flagship? TN use the Flagships.

    Hello! Thanks so much for making this video. Currently have the women’s solutions and remember you made a comparison video between the women and men’s solution in terms of fit and stiffness. Are the women TN pros stiffer than the women’s solution or more similar to the men’s? Trying to find a slightly more stiffer shoe than the women’s solutions.

      @TheClimbingNomads  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello :) yes the TN Pros are slightly stiffer than the women’s solutions - I’ve found the midsole gives a bit more support from the TN Pros

      @@TheClimbingNomads thank you!!!

  • @ABSVabeautifulsunsetvlog

    It seems like the TN Pro is simply a slightly lower all around volume Regulus

  • @alexanderbastnagel2846

    I wear my soltutions 3-3.5 sizes down from my street shoe. How far would you downsize in the tn pros?

    • @TheClimbingNomads

      Hi Alexander, thanks for watching. I used to wear solutions in a EU 41 and now wear TN pro's in EU 42 . Hope that helps 👍

    Do you get the same size for both regulus and the TN. Not the LV version, the normal version.

    Do you guys have any advice comparing UP sizing to evolv?

    • @TheClimbingNomads
      @TheClimbingNomads  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Shawn, Sorry haven't worn any Evolve shoes for a very long time and can't remember what size they were. Can probably help with any sizing difference between the different Unprallel models if that helps

      I have the evolv agros in an 8.5 uk, (street size 8 uk). Just purchased the regulus in a 7.5 uk looking for a more performance fit and they are perfect for my feet, even the heel. I tried the TN pros in 7.5 but had a weird pain/rubbing on my left little toe so went for the regulus. Loving them so far.

    For those of you in the US and looking to purchase these shoes from their online store, BUYER BEWARE! This video definitely sold me on getting a pair of Regulus as well as doing additional research I've learned that it was the old 5.10 team before the sold to Adidas and the Regulus were comparable to the Hi-angles. Unfortunately they were too small and I had to go through their returns process. I've should have looked further into the company as it seems like I am not the only one having issues with returns through them according to their Facebook reviews. I've been ghosted by their support for over a month and no status update on my returns process. Please let your climbing gym and others know if they stock these shoes that this is what customers might have to go through if they attempt to return their shoes.
