    SBH, I like how you "don't see a thing for what it is but what it can become." Here, using chain as a structural element. The little kink in the arc marks the piece's personality. Thanks for the video, I'm enjoying your project builds.

    filling that hole where the hook meets the base, that is why we call mig wire prairie rod here in Canada, its great for wide open spaces, its always nice seeing another welder/fabricator know what there doing without questioning themselves, your the reason why i can do nice welds on titanium and i thank you for that, I only have one other material i have to try tig welding and thats brass.... i dont know if you have a video on it but you can weld white metal, ive done it a couple times in my 15 years in the trade

    Be sure to have a well ventilated shop and maybe consider a filter mask when welding galvanized steel. The gasses that come off when you’re welding isn’t good for your health. Even when you do good prep work, there’s still some of the coating that off gasses when you weld.

      @@sawbladeheaddesigns2451 Thanks for the response. It just seemed important to remind folks of that particular safety issue. The end result looks great. Do you paint or powder coat before you wire up the lamp, or do you tend to leave it raw and let it patina naturally?

    • @sawbladeheaddesigns2451
      @sawbladeheaddesigns2451 Před 2 lety +4

      Randy Callahan It sure is important. That’s why I referred to my PT1 (gotta keep these videos somewhat short and sweet) I always do some sort of finishing on my designs, whether it’s painting, powder coating or clear coating. I used penetrol on many of my designs and on this lamp. It protects well and gives it a thick wet coating.
