  • Part 1: 6 - 9 October 1973 (day 1 to day 4).
As the Israel-Palestine region once again descends into war, we look at the Yom Kippur War: a surprise attack on Israel launched almost exactly 50 years ago.
On 6 October 1973, a coalition of Arab armies led by Egypt and Syria launched a devastating surprise attack on Israel on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur. Launched with the aim of liberating territories occupied by Israel since the Six-Day War of 1967, the fighting soon brought about the intervention of both the United States and the Soviet Union. With both nuclear-armed superpowers supporting opposite sides in the conflict, the conflict quickly escalated from a localised clash into a Cold War flashpoint.
The first part of this series focuses on the opening moves of the war, starting with an interview with the Egyptian ambassador to the UK, Kamal E. Rifaat, on the second day of the conflict.

The only reason Israel was there was to protect its border from the dictator running Egypt. All you have to do is look at the geographical situation, Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East with a population of about 3 million was surrounded by about 48 million enemies, they could never afford to lose a single war.@@Cjephunneh

You can tell how David Aliaazar was clearly shaken on the evening of the ninth. The Eight was a disaster on the Sinai front. The IDF counter attack at Al Ferdan was crushed by the Egyptian 2nd infantry Division; two hundred tanks destroyed, and the battalion commander Assaf Yaguri and his men were in displayed Captive on Egyptian TV that same night. Those idiots arrogantly laughing that they will cross into the West bank of Egypt, did not know that that same night, the IDF has finally come to the conclusion to leave the remainder of the Israeli crews surrounded in the Barlev line forts to their fate.
The ITN broadcaster at the beginning says the Egyptian infantry was cutoff on the East bank. Little did he know that that same night, and before the next day sunrise, Egypt managed to cross over five infantry divisions comprising a hundred thousand soldier, a thousand main tanks, and over ten thousand supply and support vehicles

Yes, those countless Egyptian soldier & tanks came to be destroyed later in the war as documented and well known throughout the world except in the mind of the Arabs! The numerous Arab nations were not only defeated but humiliated by the people of The Creator of Heavens & earth in every single war, but the worst is yet to come for those who lies and do evil...including the devil who deceived them!!!

Israel got dismantled. USA saved them. They tried a counter in the west bank. They failed in ismalia.they failed in suez. The succeeded in surrounding the Egyptian third army. They got butchered by the hundreds and the third army gained even more lands on the east and did not collapse. Egypt achieve all stategic objectives needed from the operation despite set backs. Egypt has peace, sharm el sheik, and billions of annual aids. Egyptian victory. Israel barely avoided destruction
