@@clayk4753 I feel bad for you I had to deal with this problem with a singing fish I was so truamatized that day cause of that thing but I am okay with that thing now but this tree was much worse then a fish the face is FREAKING CREEPY DANG IT
My grandpa died and this was in the attic brand new not taken out off the box ever so we got it and my dad makes us put it in the bathroom and he always plugs it in and scares us I hate the thing
Gabrielle Christman my dad thought it would be funny coming in my room one night when I was a young child and turning this thing on I’d like to jump out of my bed screaming I absolutely hated this thing I still do
My teacher had one of these. He would set it up on the cabinet at the end of the classroom and would send one of us to get something from it. It came to an end when one of the students got so startled, he swiped it off in a fluid motion, breaking the dang thing. RIP Douglas Fir. We hardly knew ye.
Fun fact about this thing. My family has had this my whole life. When I was little it scared me so much I’d cry. One year it was on a bookcase right outside my room. I was so scared I peed the bed because I didn’t want to go outside my room at night with it there. I’m in my twenties now and it still give me the creeps.
I remember my grandparents giving this thing to my great grandparents for Christmas when I was about 3 this thing scared the ever lasting piss out of me and my brother and still is unsettling.
Still my favorite Christmas decoration. It has an 1/8” pin sound input jack. Nothing funnier than watching a football game around Christmas with all the commentary coming from this tree ‘s mouth with it’s eyes blinking at seemingly appropriate times. Makes me roll on the floor! Plug in a podcast and you die of laughter!
reading the comments on this is funny because here I am in my 30s looking for one of these because of how much joy it brought me as a kid and ya'll on here like "nightmare fuel!" LOL
I can remember as a kid me and my siblings loved this decoration! One christmas we were putting the decorations up and his eye popped off and we still kept him with one eye as we didn't want to throw him away!! A few years later it started to look like a halloween decoration so my parents got rid of him!! Me and my siblings cried are eyes out lol
I’m getting this thing for my mom for Christmas because we used to have one and she loved it but holy shit this thing is so scary and traumatizing I don’t even want to welcome it into the house
I saw a video about this tree, I was like hmmm I want one this dude will be fun to have, also me: What if I need to go to the bathroom at midnight and that *tree is in the liveing room and it just starts to sing!*
Although I wasn't even around when these things were made, I can kind of understand why many people say they were scared of these as a kid. As even I, as a teen, gotta admit that these things look fricking creepy with their fish eyes and flappy mouth.
Glad I didn't grow up with this or I would have countless nightmares of it. I'm in a strange place where I'm not afraid of this but I know the kid version of me would have been terrified
My family bought a Gemmy Douglas Fir when he first came out and my brother Daniel and I never found him creepy, honestly. Maybe he gave us or Christmas guests a start when he greeted unexpectedly and then started singing. I could have sworn though if ours moved and operated more like an animatronic Muppet and was more uncannily naturalistic in his movement, like squeezing his eyes tight while singing “Up On The Housetop”. Then again, he was fairly new compared to this one in the video.
My mom had one of these when I was little and my older sister told me and my twin sister that it eats kids and it didn’t help it had those creepy eyes. My mom had it in the living room with the regular tree. I never went in there 😂🤣 who thought this was a good idea like be for real!
My grandma had one of these before she died I still wish I can get this same one because she had this one see now I had it before but it got lost and I’m still looking for one
I was so excited when I bought this and I put it on top of our TV and turned it on. My son was not to keen but my daughter burst into tears and was screaming for it to stop!
I used to see this thing, scream like a banshee and run to my room whenever my parents brought this menace out. ...I think I know where my fear of animatronics started from now. I think it's mostly the eyes, but also how the mouth moves and looks too where the 'tongue' doesn't cover it up makes me uncomfortable even as an adult. It just looks wrong.
My late wife Margie came home with this in 1997 and I've had it ever since. It's a family favorite and still works perfectly. I always have it at our covered entrance and people jump when he becomes "alive" then end up laughing!
I hated these when I was a kid they scared the shit out of me every time but now I’m like older maybe I should get it for my husband he gets scared 🤣🤣🤣 i’m imagine he gets scared my Husband scare easily so that’s why I’m laughing because I’m imagining it
There are so many people that are so scared of Douglas Fir. To me, he’s cute and he is not trying to scare anybody he wanted some one to play with him.
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who got trauma from this thing as a toddler in the late 90’s. It’s like a rite of passage.
My parents lured me to the living room so this would go off and it scared the shit out of me.

Literally had nightmares about these as a young toddler. Just watching this causes uneasiness.

Same exact story for me
So I'm not the only one who found this unnerving. I have PTSD.
My childhood in this video.. I was just thinking about it and had to search it 🥲
We had this tree when I was a kid and it scared the living shit out of me 😱 😦 😟
