Here's the final battle in Quest mode before you unlock the Demigod of rock. I was able to FC Holy Wars and This Day We FIght, and I was able to keep a combo throughout Sudden death with the help of the shield ability. I never broke combo, but it's still not a full combo. I tried for quite a while to try to FC sudden death in this battle, but was never able to get it. If you read the description of yesterday's video, you'll know my struggles with that damn song lol. Still, I think it's pretty neat that I was able to FC Holy Wars and This Day We Fight back to back.

If I were to play this game and the story mode, I'd definitely have to sing these three songs. One thing's for sure, I would have no problem with that. I love singing and these three songs are right up my alley. Especially Sudden Death.

@@christopherregan1654 the only difference was the guitar at the beginning, No phaser on the game version, Phaser was used in the album version. these 2 guitars are panned left to right during call and response intro after the intro solo.
I think there was a couple of small lyric rewrites in the Thir13en version as well.
It’s crazy how it went from this crazy game to guitar hero live, should’ve just made a warriors of rock sequel with more death metal and another tool segment

I know people think this wasn’t the best Guitar Hero game, but personally the story mode here is epic, with the Demigod of Rock, the Beast, the story behind the guitar in 2112 by Rush, and the heroes’ transformations, it felt amazing to me. Like the kind of thing you see on old album covers

@@justinripley7530 Thats a power in the game called "streak guardian". After you beat the story you will be allowed to screw up twice in a row without your multiplier/streak resetting. but you still wont get a 100% after the song ends

Imo, this will always be the proper end to the Guitar Hero franchise. There was no way Live could even come close to what this game’s story mode pulled off.

GH3 is miles above WoR. It's such a better game, in every way possible. It's no mystery why it's regarded as the best GH game and it's the most popular. WoR was incredibly boring, and the charts were just terrible, tbh.
This game was awesome. I really don’t know why that brought the biggest smile to my face but it really did.

I. FUCKING. LOVE THIS GAME. It's a shame Activision stopped making Guitar Hero games. I want more games like this. All these crazy powers make you feel like a badass. Sure, it gets to be too easy when you become All-Powerful for Domination, but earning a bunch of stars in one run-through of a song feels so satisfying.

Okay, coming back to this 1 year later... I gotta day this is one insane finish to the series. Using all 8 powers AT THE SAME TIME in the final battle was nothing short of epic. Though, it makes me wonder... what happened to the bands you played with during the first 2 songs? Are they playing Sudden Death in the background and we can't see them?

I for one liked the additional powers that the characters got in the game.
I remember using Echo + Pandora's powers in Quickplay chasing after incredible scores.
It would be pretty cool to see them being implemented in Clone Hero if possible.
I've suggested this before. Don't see it happening. Or, if it does, it'll be a long time from now.
Addendum: Yeah; that's the ability pair I often go with, though I managed to get 21 nova stars on 2112 Part 6: Soliloquy by using Lars and Echo's abilities (for a 36x multiplier) playing Expert Bass (that's my best-skilled instrument part).

You gotta admit, the guitars that came with the game are the best looking in the series
It was the best feeling too, idk why but it just sat better on your body than a lot of the previous versions and all the buttons and strummer felt perfect, going from the WoR guitar to any of the others just feels weird to hold and use
those holes in the body make them incredibly comfortable to use, too

I hated this last part. I finished all the other songs on expert before I bought my first real guitar. After 11 years and 4 real life bands later, I still think about not finishing THE LAST song... Guitar hero, you were a HARD drug.

This series went out the only way it sensibly could: With a killer blow to the head by a literal ax! Talk about a grand finale!

We still have hardest songs left! Not done yet. But this is a fantastic setlist, one of the best. They really made this game for the hardcore GH fans, and this was a great way to come back after making GH5 and Band Hero- which had a variety of genres and were generally easy. This game is all rock and metal, and it's got some of the hardest songs in the series in it. Great game, great way to finish the franchise
Just don't mention Live, I have a very bad experience including GH Live (Long delivery, dongle not working, the idiot that sold it sent a dongle not meant for the platform etc.). I agree that this game is the hardest in the whole franchise. It's also my favourite game.

@@benmarley3086 The Megadeth songs are harder on bass and drums. Anything Queen is a vocal chords Iron Man comp, lol (Rush 2112 is no pushover either though the first and last songs are easy)
Also, going from non-pitched vocals to complex vocals is really tough on the voice (Ravenous, Chemical Warfare, Setting Fire to Sleeping Giants, I'm Broken, Dancing through Sunday, etcetera).
This was the coolest. I miss these games.

this game was like no other gh it actually had a story not just playing songs to unlock more than like 2 bonus characters love the story or hate it you have to admit it was well thought out and unique all the hero transformations then bonus spirits of characters crazy cool instruments and stages the rush 2112 was also dope plus great song list idk why after this they thought of gh live that game was awful so sad the series is over it was my childhood
Every GH had a story (except for maybe Guitar Hero Van Halen, Band Hero and Guitar Hero 5, I didn't play them), specially since GH3, remember those cutscenes between every gig? World Tour also had something but a bit more subtle (with intro and ending cutscenes for every career), then Smash Hits had the whole debacle with the God of Rock, it wasn't until Warriors of Rock when they went hard on it, too bad it was too late :(
WoR had the best campaign of all the GH/RB games by a landslide. Not always can you have the three main GH dudes team up with the headless horseman and fight a giant mech to awaken a god.

Didn't notice it at the time when I was still playing, but the mixes for these songs for GH can be pretty awful. Like the guitar solos taking such precedent over the song as a whole, which sure; it's GUITAR hero, but the solos can sound a bit shitty at times when so removed from the overall mix.
