- The Atholl highlanders the only legal private army in Europe march down the royal mile after the service of thanksgiving and dedication for HM King Charles III at St Giles High Kirk on the occasion of His Majesty being presented the Honours of Scotland
They are followed by the Lonach Highlanders a friendly society from Aberdeenshire.

The Atholl Highlanders are the chaps with the very long rifles, the fellows with the fearsome spears are the Lonach Highlanders. They aren’t a private army. Despite the weaponry they are a Friendly Society from Aberdeenshire. The Band is a combined Band of the Atholl and the Lonach.

Agreed, years ago I attended the Lonach Gathering at Strathdon, the Highlanders came into the field at the entrance and by the time they had all entered they were joined up with the front. traditionally they all called for a wee dram at every welcoming house on the march there.

Even in the most obscure parts of America you will find parades with bagpipes. Gotta be a cool feeling if you’re Scottish.

Scotland deserves to have be distinguished from the UK. Like maybe call the country "The United Kingdom and Scotland"
Everyone of them probably unemployable in the real world, same tune all the time on repeat and repeat and repeat again, all a bit of a fancy dress show to be honest, should have stuck in at school 👎

@@kyle-zw2je consider yourself corrected, no 'seeking' involved, for whatever reason it popped up as thing sometimes do on CZcams, I watched it, and commented albeit maybe stating the obvious........left right boom boom left right boom boom left right boom boom. Good schooling would have maybe helped the poor souls🤷
