It's an inexpensive spring suspension so I didn't have a big problem.
Painted with metallic silver.

I am gonna do my 1st try paint-stripping a frame, but I am gonna use a heat-gun at 550C temperature instead of a paint stripper cause its cheaper. Have you ever tried it doing it with a heatgun? whats your opinion on it?

Mas uma coisa me chama muito a atenção: Em vários dos teus vídeos você usa o airbrush para as pinturas, coisa que raramente em outros vídeos na arte de restauração de veículos e que pessoalmente acho bastante lógico para não haver tanto desperdício de tinta.
O que me deixa curioso é se você tem ou poderia fazer um vídeo específico sobre a utilização do mesmo (airbrush), com limpeza e trocas de tinta por se tratar de pintura metálica em uma superfície que fica tão exposta.
De pronto agradeço pela coletânea de vídeos e pela atenção =)

Always good to see fellow enthusiasts at work. I`m more used to motorcycles & cars, but just had an old mountain bike given, so your video helps me make a start. Regarding cleaning the stanchions, I find paint "rubbing compound" paste, effective when used with a coarse cloth (like the old "shoeshine boys" used to use. Any deep pitting can be filled with epoxy resin etc and sanded back carefully to the profile. have to find some seals now. - Many thanks and all the Best - Dave

phenomenal job did t know I can remove rust from the stanchions with a scrubber and wd 40
You can also soak paper towels in vinegar wrap them around and cover in plastic wrap and it should work without having to scrub them
@@purpleRider05 Huh interesting I might restore my 2011 katais fork doing that. I dont want those stanchions to get worse as they have been abused and left out in rain and snow idk yet.
@@Drago0900 tinfoil/steel wool and vinegar also works, if they are coil forks it's very easy to take them apart clean and re grease

@@intelligentph3467 dude I just built my own recumbent bike frame from raw steel. I make RC planes, gliders etc. Cheap fork restoration is something I did many times and I don't think it's worth recording. Especially when you paint everything first 😜
This parts came out good the way you paint them, it would be much easier to hang them and go around them.

서스펜션 ... 일명 앞쇼바 정말 손대고 싶지 않은 파트네요. 거의 비슷한 구조일 것 같은 MTB로 손대고 있는데 푸를거 다 푸르고 하도 안나와서 망치로 (고무망치) 빵빵 때리고 있는데도 조금씩 빠지고 있네요. 녹물 계속 나오고 꼭 침수차 같은 ... 그만큼 신경안쓰고들 타고.. 이거 제대로 동작 하게 되면 승차감이 훨 나아지겠지요.
어떤 것 이든 주기적으로 관리해주면 좋은 것 같습니다~

Подскажи, пожалуйста, а если хромированные перья вилки сильно поцарапаны и сильно ржавые, большие раковины - их красят? Или это бессмысленно?
Во-первых эта деталь называется ноги, во-вторых если они поцарапанны их надо менять, и в-третьих следовать примеру этого видео не следует так как автор вообще не разбирается в велосипедном ремонте.
@@user-ii7kw6hs1s и Вам спасибо. Но взять и поменять может любой, у кого есть лишние деньги. А привести в порядок, с минимальными затратами - далеко не каждый. Умников из веломастерских на ютубе хватает, а тут как-то душевнее.
тут проблема не в ногах, а в плохих сальниках. Которые не держат и пропускают во внутрь абразив. А он царапает ноги. Скорее всего у вас дешёвая вилка - макет - держатель для колеса. Поэтому менять её нужно полностью, а не только ноги. А пока думаете о новой, агонию старой можно продлить полировкой, как в видео с обязательной чисткой внутренностей штанов и бушингов. Так же можно попробовать уплотнить сальники фумлентой

Я, на самом деле, всё понимаю - вилка у меня и правда старое говницо мамонта (rst launch t8), пролежала пару лет под дождём, там на ногах кратеры как на луне ), сальники все потресканы, бушинги/башенги тоже пострадали от ржавчины на ногах. Но я её полностью разобрал, почистил, смазал и заработала она мягенько-мягенько и люфта никакого нет. Так что сальники поменяю и ещё походит )
@@KsandrBo да не за что. А вообще, я бы посоветовал карбоновую регидку с алиэкспресса. И дёшего и не надо перебирать. Только на перёд покрышкутпошире поставить Сам уже лет 5 назад поставил на зимний велосипед. Вел весь в грязи, а душа за вилку не болит
