I love how he makes it seem so effortless... This guy's sketches are better than many artists' fully finished artwork, for crying out loud!

Doctor Doom I think drawing is a God given gift. Some people could always draw and practice to become even better.
It's a God's gift but you need to practice, study and never stop. I don't like when people tell me, "oh you're gifted!, it's easy for you". Well... what would you think if I ever said to a surgeon something like, "John, you're gifted, it's easy for you to perform surgeries and help others!".
Years of practice and study. That's all. And it's hard, veeeery hard.
Funny you say that since part of this video talks about how much effort he puts in and sometimes can't bring himself to put in, and how tiring it can be. lol
I’ve always liked Jim’s art work and his ability to meet deadlines when doing series. But after watching these stream videos I now admire him even more as a person. So humble, humorous and smart.

I love the effortless freedom of tge pen strokes it really gives the drawings a cool look. He really makes it look easy
I've always preferred the gruffer looking Aquaman. It makes sense that his look would be untamed, like the sea, if that makes sense? It also differentiates him from the rest of The Justice League more than just having him look like Superman with blonde hair and an orange shirt. Mamoa's version of the character in the DCEU pretty much confirmed how badass this version of the character can look, I think.

Quick challenge to Jim's theory on his hair though.. His hair has to be invulnerable like the rest of his body, otherwise all of the scenes where he is flying in to space (where it can up to or more than 455 degrees), as well as when he is energy or heat blasted by a bad guy, his hair should singe right off, and it clearly does not. Take that Jim! :-)

Its intrusting how many comic book artist dont use basic head contruction most of them use scribblimg the gesture of the face , with a simple oval shape and loos lines awsome im going to try this out with no construction lines but i think i havd the idea great drawing i must say 👌👌👌

It looks like a 5.6mm lead holder, which you put separately bought graphite lead into. The lines look quite pale so maybe 4H lead.

See this is the problem. Just let me make my point. At 5:10 he starts talking about Superman's eyelashes. He says "So would his eyelashes be like daggers...he could pull them off and kill somebody." That's right KILL somebody. You see this is DC today. They're dead Aquaman's hair is just like Superman's...it's dead. He and a lot of other artists who mimic his awful style have no imagination when it comes to comics. What if Superman could pull a train with a single strand of his hair...no, no that's just corny and unbelievable lets make him use it to KILL people. NO, no, no Superman can't use his heat vision to shave in a funny light hearted scene he HAS to use a razor. Seriously if Jim Lee still has control over these characters in years to come expect a bland, dull, miserable, ultra-violent, depressing DC universe.
