Great, steady drone footage.... In my 40 years in HOLLYWOOD, I worked at Universal, 20th Century-Fox, Columbia, Paramount, Warner Brothers, CBS Studio Center, Culver Studios and Disney... so glad I retired, I knew these studio lots at their best and when each had it's own identity!

@@AirWorthyTours You forgot that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment which was known as Columbia TriStar Home Video at the time was located at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California from 1992-1995.
For an updated version of this video, you can add mention to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for the Warner Bros. Studios part as well as the on-screen logos that SPHE used from 1993 and 2005 respectively.

Also, for the Warner Bros. Studios part, you can also add mentions to The CW and its predecessor, The WB, as well as promos for The CW and The WB, as well as The WB's introduction as part of its first night on January 11, 1995, also, the flagship stations of The CW are WPIX (PIX 11), KTLA (KTLA 5), WPSG (The CW Philly) and KMAX (CW 31), The CW is jointly owned by ViacomCBS through CBS Entertainment Group and WarnerMedia through Warner Bros., WPIX and KTLA were also flagship stations of The WB from 1995-2006.

The photography is fantastic. You get to see the studios in a way you never get to see before. I gotten to on a tour of both Warner Bros and Universal backlots and let me tell you they were amazing. I’m planning to take a tour of the Paramount backlot when I go on vacation next year. The Sony lot consists of just soundstages because the famous backlot that they had years ago was sold by a ruthless corporate raider named Kirk Kerkorian. He was the Gordon Gekko of his day who basically sold the lot to fund his hotels which is all he care about. He the reason MGM was destroyed.

Another interesting video, Captain. Our roads, bridges and airports are crumbling. Broadband is spotty in the countryside. But, there's one area in which no country on the planet can compete with the good old US of A: Culture. Our entertainment, especially our movies, dominates the world. Nobody does it like we do.
I sub to many CZcamsrs based in countries around the world, including some of the best Urbex channels out there. Many in UK and Australia, plus others where English is not their first language. Of course, all speak English, and cater to Americans. They make plenty of $, from YT, Patreon and tips from live feeds. They grew up watching our films and TV. And they learned English at an early age. Hollywood is and has always been a force to reckon with. Thanks!

Awesome! You're going to get some great footage. A couple of things to be cautious about:
      1. LA has A LOT of helicopters, that fly at varying altitudes. So be aware of that and really maintain your drone in line of sight.
      2. For some of the popular attractions (like the movie studios) make sure to fly on the periphery of the campuses to stay out of trouble ☺️
Hope this helps and enjoy your time!

I always liked "The Big Six Major Film Studios" than "The Big Five", in fact I always loved it when 20th Century Fox as a separate movie studio instead of being owned by Disney, after when Rupert Murdoch put it out for sale, then changed name from Fox to 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures respectively in order to avoid the recently new Fox Company.

Curious what people mean when they say Paramount is the only major studio still operating in Hollywood. I've read that before. But aren't all these studios based in Hollywood? I know they're all fairly close to one another?

    • @AirWorthyTours
      @AirWorthyTours  Před rokem +1

"Hollywood" is just a general term to denote the movie industry. Paramount is located in the Hollywood Neighborhood. While Warner Bros is located in Burbank which is its own city separate from Los Angeles.

all the studios in a nutshell:
Walt Disney Studios: the one that basically prints its own money thanks to its assets and worshiping consumers.
Warner Brothers: the definition of a film studio
NBC-Universal: The one that doesn't try anymore neither in film nor tv like it used to
Paramount/CBS: the smallest of the film studios, financially struggling the most while their broadcast division is still most successful broadcast network
Sony-Columbia Pictures: Occasionally successful films but still financially stable thanks to their parent company being a multi billion dollar Japanes conglomerate
MGM: the company the fell so low that they were easily scooped up by the largest company in the world Amazon
FOX: the company that litterly sold its entire film division to Disney to make a quick buck

How do you do a video about Hollywood Studios and not mention any shows from the past like all of the great CBS shows of the 70s like All In The Family, The Jeffersons and so many more or show Universal Studios and not mention Abbott and Costello, the comedy team that saved Universal from going under? Maybe do a little more research on the history of these studios and give credit where credit is due.
