@@slappy8941 What in the world kind of take is that? Real democracy is quite the opposite of a dictatorship. Unless you are advocating anarchism, which I am down for, the alternative to dictatorship is democracy and vice versa (or some hybrid). Outside of the scope of a stateless society, those are kinda the opposite ends of the state political spectrum. Now arguing representative "democracy" is not a true democracy and always leads to dictatorship would be a nuanced take I'd be on board with. But your statement is kinda broad in that way and seems to be indicating that any rule by the people always leads to despotic rule by the few/one. And if that's the case it seems like you are either pro-dictatorship in the end or have some alternative you've chosen not to share. Only one I can think of that aren't a rule by the people, rule by the few/one or some combination is something stateless like anarchism or communism. But I don't know many anarchists or communists who make such vague statements that provide little to no hope for organizing. So what exactly is your political alignment? Or more accurately, what is your agenda with such a comment about democracy leading to dictatorship? Do you have an alternative I'm unaware of you'd like to see or are you one of those people who are pro-dictators and who think it's just inevitable?

@@Stephen...It's because democracy derails into the rule of the 51% over the remaining 49%.
Without a set of rules regulating it becomes a mob rule.

All America does is intrude into other peoples and other countries livelihoods. They have done it throughout their domestic and international history. The proof is the history of America, and the European shared tactics used since its inception- that will never change. I’m not a betting man, but if I were, I bet America has a hand in it.

Democracy must prevail and we shouldn't lock up political opposition or do a coup when stopped from locking up political opposition. I'm glad this was stopped and I hope to see Evo Morales allowed to run for office like he's legally entitled to. I also hope to see no further "strongmen" with ideas of power able to even be in a structural position to do something like this again. Or even a structure we have to keep such "strongmen" away from in the first place.
