One man carried an entire style of music on his back for half a century or more , that is a national treasure , and he was like a family member to mine he will never be forgotten !!!
My POPS would have me play this for him over and over for him just about all night long, fuck it, i loved it,Just cuase i brought my POP's where he wanted to be.
I sat at the piano for hours growing up during the 1950s-1960s pecking out the music I heard while listening to the radio late at night. During the day our African-American maid would hum and sing along with my novice attempts to duplicate the feeling of the songs I'd heard. In time I became a professional musician, traveling the country for twenty years playing various nightclubs and venues. Nobody had a greater influence on my style than b.b. king and Jerry Lee Lewis. This original version of Sweet Sixteen is in my opinion the greatest blues song ever recorded. It captures the zeitgeist of mid-20th Century American Southern history/music at the juncture where cultures collided and merged. This is THE definitive performance of Sweet Sixteen and its authenticity cannot be challenged.

In a record collector i had this on his greatest hits. Two weeks after he died i found two records "The blues king's best" and "live at the cook county jail" both two mind blowing and soulful records. He may have departed us in the physical but his voice and lucilles will live forever on wax.
Please take comfort that there are people right this very minute, yeah right now as you are reading this, that are enjoying BB King. Some are alone, some are with friends, some are crying and some are smiling. Some are just kicked back rubbing their arms, feeling them chill bumps that surface every time they here him sing and play. That would be me, right now! Peace brothers and sisters.
Whenever I try to play blues on guitar I can't really get anywhere with it, but when I listen to his music I start playing like him. It's like he plays the guitar in my hands. It's weird to think that even if heaven and hell doesn't exist, how he expressed his soul can still live on through people who try to learn his music.
His music lives on forever couldn't no one touch him especially wit old lucille playing a bad man when it came to tha blues bbking rest in heavenly heaven!!
R.I.P. BEN E KING SIR, U WERE BY FAR THE GREATEST.... GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES. THANK YOU FOR ALL MY YEARS OF GROWING UP TO UR AWESOME AND FANTASTIC MUSIC!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

One of the nicest persons in the world. He loved smothered pork chops, string beans and mashed potatoes!
that's random
he also enjoyed taking advantage of 16 yr old etta james when he was 29. not so nice.
He is not dead, He just went home with the other greats.

When I first met you, baby
Baby, you were just sweet sixteen
When I first met you, baby
Baby, you were just sweet sixteen
You just left your home then, woman
Ah, the sweetest thing I'd ever seen
But you wouldn't do nothing, baby
You wouldn't do anything I asked you to
Oh, you wouldn't do nothing for me, baby
Oh, you wouldn't do anything I asked to
You know you ran away from your home, baby
And now you wanna run away from old B. too
You know I love you
And I'll do anything you tell me to
You know, you know I love you, baby
Baby, I love you, and I'll do anything you tell me to
There's nothing in the world, woman
Babe, it ain't nothing
Nothing in the world I wouldn't do it for you
You can treat me mean, baby
But I'll keep on loving you just the same
Treat me mean baby, treat me mean, baby
Keep on loving you just the same
Oh, but one of these days, baby
You're gonna give a lot of money
To hear someone call my name
Yes, sweet sixteen, baby
Sweet sixteen
Yeah
The sweetest thing, baby
Oh, you're the sweetest thing I ever seen
Well, you know I'm having so much trouble, baby
Baby, I wonder
Yes, I wonder
Baby, I wonder
Oh
I wonder what in the world's gonna happen to me

Is this from the early 1960 period, I wonder. It sounds raw enough, plus the youthful picture. Great guitar, great man, greatly missed.
