    Wow thanks for that. Didn't realise that the terminals were simply push-fit. That saved me pulling the holder apart and soldering them.

    How do you get the wires back out for maintenance? Everybody wants to show you how to install it but nobody shows how to take it apart and remove the wires.

    In technique, every detail counts: if you don't have a match when you need it, you will suffer from the cold. And how simple is a match...? The film explained to me how to mount the new nozzles with clips... . It proves once again that even the simplest installations can be "difficult" if you don't know the details. They actually make the difference. Thanks.

I'm living in Denmark and bought a lampholder online, when it arrived it looked like none of the ones I was used to from my home country and I didn't know how to google for them!! Thanks for this video! I am trying to wire a lampholder that is exactly the same, but it says that you need to solder the tips of the wire first (if it is that "multiple thin wires together" type ). Did you actually do it or is it unnecessary if you twist it hard enough?

    • @nickhammond8545
      @nickhammond8545  Před 3 lety +1

      @@Cuiositycola you might be able to twist the ends enough to push them into the holder but I doubt it. You might need to order some of these...www.amazon.co.uk/White-0-75mm-Bootlace-Ferrule-Pack/dp/B07BR4VYMH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=ferrule+0.75&qid=1617978216&sr=8-3

      Hi, If you mean get the wires up the lamp. It can be tricky. I would either use a bit of tape at the end to make it more streamlined and stronger. I sometimes use a bit of the outer flex to put on the end of the 2 bare ends. Hope that is what you were meaning?

    • @iain8837
      @iain8837 Před 3 lety +2

      @@nickhammond8545 No, I mean, once you put the wires into the socket, if you want to take them back out again. My workmate has this fitting and wants to shorten the cable, I can't get the wires out, they are clamped in and there is no release. Cutting and soldering is possible, but not as near.

    • @nickhammond8545

      Hi, the green cable is earth, for these particular lampholders it isn't needed. However if you have a lampholder that has that third connection and is made of metal it's super important!
