    Been watching this series ( cheap Maserati journey ), thinking WTF are you doing, until this vid. Your advice on "stay out of debt", is the best. The one thing, I can say, as someone, about to retire, from my, one career grind, is never give up, on the, "investment" thing ( you're young enough, with that "frugal" mindset, to just let it grow, in the background, while you keep, "casting that rod" ) that's your retirement, unless we go, "Mad Maxx", in the next twenty, to thirty years lol.
    Also, after watching "automotive" CZcamsr's/CZcams, in general, from it's beginning, the growth of a channel, is easy, if you can keep ppl engaged, but maintaining relevancy, is the hardest. Automotive is 5, to 10 yrs, at best, before you're either running out of, engaging ideas, or you are stuck, in the "super/hyper car" nonsense ( a "super rich" game ) that few, can play, unless you don't, have to worry about money, "at all". Just sayin.

    Hello I am wondering as a 14 year old how to get money. My whole family is a bunch of gearhead and got into cars very early. My grandpa started working at 10 because his dad died and then went off to community college while having a side job as a mechanic he bought two 911s in college. He still has them today they’re worth over $100,000 each. Everyone in my family started getting into cars and working on them at my age. I can’t afford to have a small car, but I have a way to do it. My uncles on the other side of the family all have AC cobras mustang Shelby Humvee, and other American stuff the other side has German and mostly 70s American muscle. My grandpa was a farmer before he worked at Ford. Thank you I love watching all your videos. I can see your channel turning into something like hoovies garage

    have fun with the maintenance on that there’s a reason it’s one of the highest depreciated cars out there. However I am a huge fan of the looks on them

    The thing us you didnt buy it from a dealership. You bought it from some random private car lot. The handle broke off the glove box, plus there is something wrong with the engine, yes it sounds good, but I can hear something is wrong with it.

    Why in the world did you pay cash for it? Even if you financed $31K of the $41K, you're better off putting that $10K aside for repairs in a money market account and/or so many other safe investments that will yield over your interest rate.

    Hello do you have any recommendations for me my whole family started making money young, I’m 14. My grandpa started his job when he was 10 because his dad died at 7. He went to a community college and bout 2 Porsche 9/11s when he was a mechanic while in college. Then after college he was a race car driver at Virginia international Raceway. While working at some marketing place. Basically my whole family is a bunch of gearheads. I just want to have money to get into it more. My uncles have ac cobras humvees and Shelby cobras one side is an American side of the fam. One is more into german and some American 70s. My other grandpa worked at ford then was a farmer. thank you I think your videos are great I can see you channel turning into hoovies garage love the vids

    Dude makes $70K, spends $40K cash on a car and proceeds to give his opinion on why you should not finance a car. My dude, imagine if you spent $15K cash as a down payment, used the remaining $25K towards down payment and closing costs on a construction loan for a home + renovation. Fix up the house over 3-4 months. Choose to live in the house, rent the house, or sell the house.

    You mentioned in the title that you used your "life savings" to buy this car. Now people ask you "what you do for a living". Doesn't this give you a pause to think that maybe such lifestyle is... not sustainable and out of your reach? Are you pretending to be someone you're not? Did you buy this car to get external validation? Just some food for thought.

    • @ProfessorDrives
      @ProfessorDrives  Před měsícem +1

      So I still have some money set aside in-case anything goes wrong. But yes, I would say it's not smart to buy this car until your net worth is over $500k. I could've waited a lot longer. However, my increasing income is sort of a safety net for this financial decision. And I purchased the car because this is my favorite car I can "afford" right now. And it'll be a fun journey for the youtube channel.
