Thanks for the ninfo 😻☁️🌈
Thanks so.much 4 this info. Best video ever of any Radiohead song or subgroup!
I kept thinking the guy who made this definitely was inspired by the wolf house now you tell me it's the same guy, nice
I was quite happily surprised opening the video to see that this was the case.
After two seconds of video i said "is this The Bones?"
Finally this song gets an official release. Jesus christ you cant drop that insane riff in that live performance then keep us hanging for so long, man...
LOL I feel the same way!
thats torture
Get you hooked and then take away the supply. hahaha
This has got to be one of Jonny's most addicting riffs. It's nice to hear him crank the distortion pedal again too. It's been a while since we've heard that kind of aggressive playing during the breakdown.
Ahahaha same Here, man! 😂
To all those complaining about "too many singles just release the album", let's just be thankful for all the incredible artists collaborating for the music videos of the songs!
Did you just make up this complaint? Because from I can tell everyone is just happy these guys are releasing music, regardless of the format
@@pepesilvia429 I wish I did. Browse the comments sections long enough of the other videos and you'll see what I mean :(
Albums are dead. But long live lp10
I think they're finally getting to do what they always wanted with OKC, release a video for every track. I think its lovely. My favorite moment from A Moon Shaped Pool's promo was them releasing new artwork periodically for several weeks after the record hit; this feels similar, like a special event.
Looking forward to this one A TON... also A Hairdryer.. and We Don't Know what Tomorrow Brings... And...And...
Especially as there's only a week until the album is released
The quality of this tune put aside, the clip makers deserve a big respect.
Stop motion is a nightmare to do and more with this quality of animation.
A total piece of art.

Agreed!
And it fits the song so well! I don't think I would have liked the studio version as much if I hadn't watched the video with it

The Grammys don't deserve this song.
This is the kind of art that saves me and makes me feel alive...
Insane work of stop-motion, it must have taken forever.
and it looks like it's shot on film, even more forever
It was shot on film, check Los Huesos by the same director

6 mos. of work according to Pitchfork.
Album of The Year.
this is the kind of music that i'd listen as a kid, get really scared of the clip, never come back to it again then rediscover it 6 years later
that riff is addictive.
I love this radiohead evolution
99% of any comments, anywhere on the web, are surface only comments about this entire album. Pretty sure this album is meant to be DISCUSSED. It's about the current situation we are in as our economies crumble, as social media destroys the fabric of our humanity, as many thousands of people go homeless in cities across the USA.... but, hey, that's just like, my opinion, man.
3:33 beautiful greenwood riff
The guitar riff is insanely good. Radiohead/Thom/Jonny are truly something else. What modern rock band nowadays writes a song this experimental, intricate, complex and soulful, all at the same time?
King Gizzard

black midi i suppose? very few, though, and black midi havent got the ability to straddle the line between accessible and poppy with experimental and unusual like thom and, to a lesser degree, jonny do. not to slag off jonny, hes amazing, just not as even handed in the pop/weird balancing act as thom is; jonny seems happier to go all in with the experimentation, which has its own merits
NIN
Jonny's guitar work here is next level creative. These boys always find ways to surprise us in new ways.

Love the David Lynchian vibes in this video
For me Weird Fishes was the weirdest video of all time until I watch this today . ❤️😁
a crazy song, crazy video, crazy album, and crazy band.
Affirmation of continuous greatness right here.
Thom and Jonny appear to be psychopathically addicted to musical innovation and integrity.
I believe this is the best track by far
Undoubtedly the best song of 1921
I've been waiting for this song for so long. Jonny's guitar work here is insane

cristobal leon & joaquin cociña did an incredible job on this video. I remember watching their film The Wolf House at CalArts and being blown away. Glad to see experimental animation has a place in music and the world.
Did you study experimental animation at calarts?
I thought this video sucked and the person who did it shoudnt have accepted money for it. They shouldve gone on with their own path not this rich narcissist yorke.

Dear Thom,
The Army of Thom is very happy, ecstatic and in ecstasy at sooooo many moments. Give us more, give us more!!!! A sincere thank you. Here's to the most humble, indescribably brilliant, arguably greatest musician of all time and the fact that every new single so far from this album has given me chills repeatedly. There was a moment in the video for "Skrting on the Surface" where I felt like I had lived that moment in a different life..... and tears of pure and indescribable joy streamed down my face. Music doesn't do that very often. Thank you Thom from the bottom of my heart and soul. You have changed my life, even since Pablo Honey when I was 15 ❤️. Long live our creative fearless leader!

it is absolutely impossible for these guys to make a bad song. this has some incredible guitar riffs. definitely my favorite. no bad/weak song on that album.
sometimes forever is one second
I don’t care much for A Hairdryer
The best piece of music I've heard in years, more sinister than most of current metal bands. The animation is mind blowing too.
My thoughts exactly !
if it were a bit slower, tuned 5 semitones down and had more fuzz id almost mistake it for a boris song
Not Meshuggah tho.
@@dickmonkey-king1271 Meshuggah or Radiohead/the Smile, 2 different worlds. Meshuggah and Gojira are my new big favourites in metal. Massive, heavy. Good enough for tears of awe. But somehow, it's nothing compared with the emotional heaviness and sophistication, but also the sadness, despair and devastation of Radiohead and The Smile's music. I can burst in tears only talking about Radiohead, Thom Yorke or the Smile. It's that good.
@@Ominous89 I just meant that Meshuggah is more sinister. Last two minutes of Phantoms for example.
The bass at 2:30 hits me in the feels.
Peak Jonny returns with an excellent riff in this one. Great song.
oh my god I've never been so happy with a studio version of a song like I am right now holy shit
Those little subtile sophisticated drumfills. The ka poom poom 1:13. The bass joining in at middle of the song. The twist in the rhytm. That mysterious little flute in the echo right before the end.. This song is a masterpiece.
flute? not sure where you're hearing that, sounds like layers of guitars imo.
@@climatebreak 4:17, sounds much like a flute over the guitar layers.
@@Ominous89 thanks for the timestamp ☺ i hear a mild note but there's no sound of air or breath i'd expect from a flute. jethro tull fans know what i'm talking about.

Thin Thing: riff of the century!!!!!!!!!!

I love this, we all want more Radiohead but this is like the methadone for a Radiohead addiction. It hits all the right highs and is similar, but totally different. To late to be an explorer, to early to see another galaxy. But here for this.
Stop motion is a nightmare until you see the final result. It's so worth it.

Stone Cold Genius. What a song, and what a video.
Recommended this album to a good friend of mine. What a gift.
24 hours applause to the people who made the video
This sounds like something queens of the stone age could have made
This is a Radiohead sound I've been missing for a while. Agitated and uptempo. It's like 2+2=5 and A Moon Shaped Pool fused.
its what i loved about radiohead, the nervousness, audible irritability and general twitchiness. the slow side can be beautiful but i think its this post-punkish, irritable rhythm that they shine with. i think amsp was a response to the muted reception of the king of limbs, which is a shame because i love that record
A little These Are My Twisted Words vibes as well.
sorry to be that guy but I think this one was too polished and lacks the dynamics of the live performances. It's not necessarily bad, just not as great as what I heard before.
@@nicolasrichards1163 i couldn’t agree more. i do like elements about the studio version, but it feels to slow, and i don’t like how the drums and bass have been changed

the mixing on this is phenomenal. What a track! Great stuff
yes! we get to finally hear that guitar part. my mind exploded when i saw the live stream and Jonny just started cranking into this tone. such a creative use of delay on guitar. LOVE IT.
That guitar riff seems capable of wrinkling the smoothest of brains with it's marvellous euclidean geometric bombardment. The reason Thom Yorke often appears to be in a state of spastik rapture is that he's up to his eyeballs in this sort of brilliance all the time. God I love these guys so much.

CZcams needs a "I super freaking like it" button. "Like" sounds a bit tiny when you watch something like this.
God this album is amazing. After a few listens, I love all the songs, but this one, man. Ever since I saw them do the original rocking version of Reckoner on the Kid A/Amnesiac tour, I was hoping they’d go in a darker, eerier, still gorgeous, but more mathy direction. Wish granted. After almost 30 years of fandom, I had high hopes, but honestly didn’t think I’d have this on repeat for six hours straight this morning.
God I hope this isn’t a one off album like Atoms For Peace. But I have a feeling a lot of fans aren’t gonna like it. The time meter on The Same is nuts. And I imagine super confusing for a lot of people.
I don't think this is a one off (well since this is a fully complete side band and AFP was all Thom's songs with the accompaniment of others) But yes I agree, here's to more Smile materials in the future.
this song rocks hard almost like 2+2=5 and the video is so uncomfortably awesome. i'm so impressed with the album and what effort it must've taken to put it all together. is this climate rock? the album's theme is pretty clear and brings much needed attention to the crisis. may the critics smile upon it!
@@climatebreak it’s funny. When Kid A came out, it came with an insert that showed the rate of the icecaps rapid melting. They’ve been trying to let people know for decades.
