Robeats basically died for me when copyright was really implemented and some good songs were removed.
i think it died for a lot of people when that happened, but there were other things that contributed to its downfall
insight is my fav song and map in robeats. im so glad it survived The Purge

... it also appears this isnt the only editing mistake i made in the video
- i used the cover art for tokyos starlight to talk about 'winter sky discovery'. both are ai anyway so it doesnt matter too much
- the old robeats trello was apparently a joint effort between 2 mappers since one of them told the other about the 'archived' list on it and they found some older maps still in the game, so they started posting them in mapping hangout
- the u in 'URGNT' is apparently ubiquitous instead of unique

Small correction and a fun fact!
"URGNT" actually stood for Ubiquitous RoBeats Gamenight Trello (or Tournament depending on context) as the name for the RoBeats Game Night Team running the Tournament alongside Heather. It was inspired from the old RoBeats Gamenight Team "The TERGNT" (I believe named by well-received community contributor ZmbGst) on the now deleted previous RoBeats discord
no wonder torchic spelt ubiquitous as unique (he wrote that part of the script), they are pretty similar
i know nothing about this urgnt thing so this is news to me
@@NoOneLikesThisName No worries, it was a few years ago anyway and there was barely any media cover on it. It was the only ever "official" RoBeats Tournament as it was endorsed by spotco and Dopheide at the time (Heather helped during staffing and spotco provided a portion of the prize pool), it also had proper tournament formatting like something you'd see in 4DMWC. Unfortunately the annual URGNT Tournament only ran for two years
last time i checked it was spelt unique
we do not talk about the sacrifices ppl had to make to get star rank with the old missions especially on ending first place in multiple missions for getting star rank unlocked trully an amazing time to play
old missions were truly something else, especially when there were only 3 missions for each rank and you had to complete every. single. one. before you ranked up
i had originally quit robeats in 2020 or late 2019 way before the copyright thing and god, it used to be a so much better game back then LMAO 😭😭
i got back into robeats in the last few months and it isnt the same anymore, tho it can still be fun
robeats is one of those games people will quit for several years and then come back

@@NoOneLikesThisName some of my older videos contain the older songs but since the audio was terrible it didn't really show them. I found it interesting to see what has happened to the game since i took a break for 2 years.

Also note: you can now but the limited songs with score points given in the leaderboard

I think the problem with casual mode is that fever fill rate, fever time, and perfect time still carry on for the other player if they’re playing compete and you’re playing casual

As a wiki editor who sees a wiki as an objective tertiary source/introduction/knowledge base, I find it rather dystopian for the removed song pges to not only be removed, but the wiki containing the pages in question shut down.
If I were the RoBeats Archive Bureaucrat then I would've archived the entire wiki to the Internet Archive and then go to Miraheze to make a new wiki for the removed songs just to spite them.
i will pass this over to the robeats archive bureaucrat and see what happens

A question I always had was where the fuck was Spotco finding these some of these songs. They were bangers but if you search for them some have less than like 5k views lol
my best guess: some music artists reach out to spotco to request to feature their work. sometimes its the other way around

22:34 this screenshot must be quite old. Through the fire and flames + sorairo days were played quite a lot back then haha. Both of them have been removed from the game now. I miss the old songs but the new additions are okay too, just less iconic.
I personally stopped playing the game when the elemental update came out.
also, i just recently came back to robeats from being absent for a few years... from the timing of the events mentioned, it makes me think that 2023 was the year when robeats really started dying
yea it is a very old screenshot, i remember seeing it in game and getting a good laugh out of it
i personally think the game started to die at around 2022-ish, its struggled to gain new players for a good while
