- My online adventure experience at the current state of Forza Horizon 5. Yes some things have not changed since Forza Horizon 4. Horizon Open Racing pretty much bundles all the classes/surfaces in 1 matchmaking, from B-Class to S2-Class, Road, Dirt & Cross Country.
I do apologies for bad video quality. For some reasons Nvidia Shadowplay were saving all of my recordings at 720p.

Nothing to do with someone's internet or hardware, back when FH4 was released AND THE SERVERS WERE WORKING, for my first ~500 races in the first month, I never experienced a SINGLE loading screen longer than 1 minute, and 1 minute was EXTREMELY long, most were ~20 seconds.
No, this is just them refusing to fix their servers despite me and many others spaming their forums for the past 6 months since it started being a problem in FH4.
Nobody online knows how to brake in this game. It's too easy to win outright if you have even a mere shred of common sense when it comes to braking lol

lol, to be fair i know how to brake, but not when. On a fast section i don't know when a sharp/slow 90 turn happen. I have no idea what speed the next corner is. I have problems to look to the map. The map is not in my line of sight. (maybe it would be if i play on a TV from greater distance.
I am very good at Sim racing, where i can train a little bit, and perfectly memorize every corner, every gear, every braking point. Muscle control is a big part of my driving.
But in Forza i am rusty with a controller and every turn is a guess how fast i can take it. The sense (lack) of speed and floaty cars doesn't help me.
lets be real here, the fact MeowMilev can keep a consistent position while spamming chat is actually a bit impressive. hes been training himself quite a bit.

Curiously, MeowMilev isn't even the most braindead player I've seen in Forza by a long shot
A recent post on the Forza subreddit showed that you spend:
59.5% actually racing
27.8% in loading screens
12.7% in useless animations

That isn’t the case.
1) Xbox Series X|S consoles are designed around having extremely fast load times.
2) For a race to begin, you have to wait for every single player to load, not just you… so despite how fast your device may be, you’ll still have to wait for the guy on minimum specs and slow internet.

R* fixed loading screens after 6+ years... and that was because a modder actually fix it and he was rewarded by the company
When i try to play with my friends, i join their convoy and he keeps disappearing and coming back again. It became unplayable online. The other online players also keeps disappearing.
I love the use of The World Revolving for the loading screens. Fits perfectly lol.
And the music is pure perfection 👌🏻
What do we want: to choose which class to play.

the online racing seems to have zero improvements from last game unfortunately. and now having xb1 xb1sx and pc all together, the loading times are gonna worse prolly the entire lifespan of the game

Forza is so primitive when it comes to online racing, cant even filter what race type you want or the class, Its so dumb and the fact there is no server browser makes it worse

Any one with common sense about the gaming industry would know that you should wait atleast 1 or 2 months after release when developers have fixed their game from all the complaints floating left and right. Add a new map, update graphics and call it a day. That's what FH devs have been doing for a long time now while for some reason avoiding fixing problems players are actually vocal about.
They fixed engine sounds. That’s it because the community literally never shuts up about it.
I get that it’s important, but it was so thick to the point where all the other problems were masked.

None of the other problems were “masked.” Playground Games is just full of lazy SJW fucks too worried about “inclusivity” and “diversity” to actually fix their shit. I knew the moment I booted up the game and saw what they put in character creation that it was gonna be a piss-poor cashgrab that was MAYBE patched into playability over the next 2 years. What a damn shame.
@@combativeThinker What floors me is that some of the problems got WORSE from FH4.
And now, the biggest issue to me, aside from abhorrent "Fast Travelling Other Players" waitt times, is how there is no universal mute option for voice chat. So I tend to get at least one clown who never mutes their mic and, as such, is picking up TV noises and the occasional iPhone alarm, crying kid and dog bark.
I was so skeptical from the beginning because I had a hunch none of the problems would be fixed from FH4 going into FH5. I was never so disappointed to not only be proven right, but also proven right beyond compromise.
But hey, at least they fixed engine sounds. Only took several dozen CZcams channels talking about nothing other than that to get them to fix it. Maybe we should do the same for the other problems.

it seems playground only copy&pasted FH4 and just changed the "map file" and added some stuff to some random folders.

It’s all about that part of the race where you find the one other person who knows what an apex is.
Horizon Online has been pretty good so far, but the bad part is the people I've been getting matched up must have never played a Horizon game before cuz I keep getting rammed and I keep getting stuck with people who have no tunes on their cars and are just ballin with A754 cars in a A class lobby
Because we didn't have time to upgrade our cars yet ahahaha

@@Black-he7nz There is no A class car that can compete with Boneshaker, therefore you get ezpz instant wins in any A Class adventure with it. it's a cheap tactic with little to no setbacks. Which is why in FH4 they banned that car from use in ranked adventures

@@speachey30 the real magic is you dont even have to try using that car. all you have to do is drive conservatively and the acceleration, handling, and top speed that would match a score of 875 do the work for you.

I'm slowly but surely feeling this way about horizon, I love going fast as fuck most of the time, but it does feel nice to have a race where speed isn't everything.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who constantly gets disconnected. I've never actually completed a Horizon Open series, even with the long loading times you actually get to complete some races.

It seems like the devs are pretty active online on forums and such, so hopefully a lot of the issues will be addressed and features added soon. If they really want FH5 to be the biggest and best arcade racer ever they really need to use player feedback and improve the servers and add features. And more new cars!!!

The long loading times are from players playing on old consoles that have spinning disk drives. When you get in lobbies with just people on series X and PC, the race loads in like 5 seconds and it is amazing. Wish I could select not to play with people on old consoles.
Some Loading are longer than 10min. I don't think there are any consoles take 10min to load forza.

The game crashes constantly for me 😂 I've only managed to do the intro sequence and the event with the Cossie, after three installs and a dozen crashes. I'll just have to wait for update patches I guess.
Had to download the game on 6 computers in order to get it to run in one, even though it barely ran and it constantly crashed.

@@mudachaproductions the thing that got it working for me was redownloading all my apps, although i think it was discord that was crashing it, and starting the game in administrator mode every time
knew it, they where ganna focus too much on graphics, sound, etc, and just not focus on an actual issue like servers

Yeah after the disappointment of fh4 dlc online modes support and how they treated them., I'm not surprised this went more it less the same direction.
Like I remember in a interview about the Lego dlc, one of things the guy bragged about was the quality of the little Lego boats in the beach more than anything

The game is actually great fun when it works, I've even managed to secure myself a top 200 HoF ranking. Online experience is terrible however, while my accolades may tell otherwise my time is limited and I can't stand to wait and wait and wait for horizon open sessions to begin and then drop due to connection issues, frustrating.

Driving to next race was fun in 3, and maybe that made it better and not have thee stupid fast traveling loading screens of death, horizon 3 is still so good I still play it still active and a lot of street racing unlike this crap

If not for the constant disconnects, you’d be fooled into thinking this was horizon 4.
You probably play on an Xbox One or something if you say that, or haven’t played FH5 at all, because the graphical improvements are real.

Every single time, every single fucking time, when we get together with my friend to make a convoy and have fun with the game, we always vanish right in front of each other. And I had the same experience you suffered, during the co-op championship, everyone from my team was not moving, only the drivatars. My friend was telling me "You're the first now, you're the third now..." and so on. That is really frustrating.

Nice Driving is no longer the default chat wheel, hence it is no longer commonly spammed. You have to change that manually which you did not have to in FH4.
My online Horizon experience: Random people talking in random languages in the voice chat that YOU CAN NOT TURN OFF
You can turn them off with your Xbox privacy settings.
Edit: Another method was to form a Xbox party solo, not sure if it still works.

The car sounds are so epic in the game. They're almost good enough to drown out all the frustrated players yelling at the game TO F***ING WORK. Almost ... not quite.

Hoonigan RS200 is a solid choice.
This is exactly what I've been experiencing both FH4 and FH5.
The devs don't actually "improve" anything in FH5 beside putting on the "Graphics Upgrade" coat.
Luckily, I tried the game via xbox game pass before deciding whether to buy the game on steam.
The loading is what gets me

For a game that is pretty much like FH4, it sure is different from its predecessor. I hope this is fixed before Christmas because I'm planning on getting the game by then.
