U2 is one of those bands where you forget about them for a while, but then you refind them and gain a whole new appreciation.
This is such a great song, it really is.
No matter how many times I hear it, it's always great.
Part of it is also used in a lighthouse family song, 'I wish I knew how it would feel to be free'
New Year’s Day is my absolute favorite by U2… a must listen 😉

The version of this song of U2 with Mary J. Blige deserves its own reaction.
In fact, it should have just been Mary J. Blige with the band of U2, as Bono was not vital nor ultimately necessary. It should have have been a Blige solo cover, which it turned out being anyways.
Terrible version...
I like Mary J. She has a great voice but I don’t like that version at all. Her voice and style remove all the emotion that is just brimming in the original.
