We hope you enjoy part 2 of our guide to Tallinn. If you haven’t already added this city to your travel bucket list, hopefully this convinces you! 👌
Beer should be for 0.5L In old town 2 to 8 €
That cat café! 😻 Also, dressing up for the black & white photos at the sub museum - like stepping into „Das Boot“ (Nikita looks like a real wartime mariner!)
Those walkways along the wall reminded me so much of one of my most favourite towns in Germany called Rothenburg. So very beautiful, you need to visit it whenever you can!
I was there in the early 2000s at Christmas time and it was amazing. Yes it was cold and the hotel in old town had a fireplace.
The submarine use to be above ground at Pirita and I went inside it. My ancestorial homeland.
I love you two! Your videos are great and I especially love that you try as many local specialties as you can find! Please keep the videos coming!
So glad you're enjoying the yummy adventures! We absolutely love food and it's so fun showing it off to the world :D
Kalamaja district was originally for sailors and people that worked on the sea. Kalamaja means fish house. Keep up the good work...
You guys are actually living the dream! Good food and such interesting history to everything around you. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! 🙌
Allison, you looked SO sad to leave the cat cafe. It looked really inviting. Glen in England
Great vlog! Such fun!
❤️
Love your vlogs, appreciate the hard work editing etc. It pays off 👍
Thanks so much, Phil 🙌❤️
LOVED the Cat Cafe... Estonia looks pretty cool!! Have fun you guys!
Estonia was a blast! And a cat cafe is always our favorite way to end a day :D
I looked into that Tallinn Card and was kind of blown away, especially by the fact that you can use it to get a discount off similar cards for Helsinki & Petersburg.
That was a great vlog informative and fun thanks
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed it :)
Another reason to come back to Bristol! The cat café has kittens right now 🐈🐾💞
1:44 The way he pronounced 'Kalamaja' was so funny :D
This is a great vlog though! Been binge-watching all of these and it's awesome to see the views on my home from foreigners' perspectives. I've even been learning some new stuff! Great job!
Glad to hear it! And ya, getting pronunciations right is one of the hardest things to master when traveling. Glad we could give you a good laugh about it though 😂
Whoever invented cat cafés deserves an award, seriously. I'm so happy this is a trend in Europe now!
☝️ we agree!!! They are magical places 😸
Saddly the owner of Tallinn one is not that nice, the idea and workers (mostly) are :)
Love your videos, like nikita a lot. I don't know how your arrangements work here but please include him in all of your videos. Appreciate it, a lot. All the best in your trips.
Have no fear, he'll definitely be with us for the next couple months...and likely again at the beginning of the year. It's Nikita 24/7 over here 😂 glad you're enjoying him and the adventures!
Lovely videos you guys.. makes me want to pack my bag
Did you guys check out the Linnahall (aka: V. I. Lenin Palace of Culture and Sport) abandoned building between old Tallin and the cruise ship port?
It'a an old soviet era concrete concert and sports hall that was built for the 1980 Moscow olympics. It's built mostly underground and from above is all stairs and roof. It's been disused since 2009 and now hundreds of people returning to their cruise ships explore it and walk on the mostly underground building.
That was AWESOME 👌 👀📸👍👍👍👍📸
Wooo! Thanks!!
Cat people are the best people!
Ohhhh I missed part one, but that cat cafe looks great. You should do a separate series on cat cafes in Europe! There are several in Berlin, by the way. I am sure they have them everywhere, but I have only been to two of the Berlin ones and one here in Arizona.
You do excellent work, makes me want to break out my GoPro and learn how to use it!!!
That is a terrific idea! We could play with so many cats 😻 Also, you should totally bust out that gopro and go on an adventure! We promise you won't regret it 😉
Really enjoyed
👌👍
Nice one x👍🏼 ( especially the kitties 😻)
We love history and yummy food, but nothing gets us quite as excited as a kitties 😹
Allison, you look SO CUTE in that sailor outfit! Glen in England
Thanks guys I didn't I'd ever want to go to Estonia now I wouldn't mind a long weekend.
We didn't expect to love eastern Europe so much either, but now we'll be recommending Tallinn (and Riga) to everyone! Hopefully you make it over there soon :D
the greenscreen part of the vlog was the funniest!🤣
Good video like a lot :)
Recommended reading, First voyage of the Racundra - Arthur Ransome. A similar group to you three in the same area nearly 100 years ago. It's on Kindle.
Whoa, that sounds awesome! Thanks for the recommendation!
Sesoon is a lit place to eat at. My school is almost next to the restaurant as well
Cat cafe 🐈 here I come 🏃🏃🏃
great vlog
Thanks!!
Loved the dress up part and dancing.. 👻
😂
Yay! She said 'bananas' again. :)
Hope you guys found the Depeche Mode bar... It's fab! If you're heading to Helsinki you should check out the tractor bar. Fun with traditional Finnish food
Thanks for the tips!
The Endless Adventure Depeche mode bar is in centre of tallinn
A huge but small tourist attraction a must
my hubs would be all about that submarine! he's in the navy and used to be on subs, so they hold a special place in his heart. i would be all about the underground tunnels :D i'll have to look in from the outside of a cat cafe though since i'm allergic. i can probably take medicine for it, but i'm slightly paranoid that it wouldn't work and i'd feel miserable for the rest of the day lol tallinn looks like a pretty neat place :)
We didn't expect much from the submarine, but had a blast exploring it! And yeah those tunnels were great too. Sounds like you're better off watching the kitties from outside 😸
There's actually an interesting story from the history of that submarine, how it sunk one of the Soviet subs way back and completely unintentionally. Specifically it was travelling under water, returning to base when suddenly in middle of the night they bumped into something. It was a decent enough bump, shook the whole boat. so crew thought first that they hit a mine (since there were no other obstacles in sea at that spot). But, there were no damages to the sub as the mine would usually do, there was no explosion, just some metal creaking sounds. So they continued on course since boat was moving normally and back in base they only discovered some scratches on the hull and a dent on a door of the torpedo tube. They didn't know it for a while as to what they bumped into, until at some later time it came out that right at that spot, on same night, same year a Soviet sub went down, it was also travelling underwater and they crashed into each other. That sub in museum was older model then other sub, built decade or two earlier and it's hull was more of a "knife shaped", had more metal in it's hull and apparently due to that it was able to punch through the hull of that other sub and yet not sustain damage (although all that thick metal also made it slower).
Allison you look wonderful
By the way : According to history ( or was it just a good story ;-) ) the danish flag Dannebrog fell from the sky in Tallinn. You can see the spot in the video, the red flag with a white cross.
Tallinn looks beautiful
It really is! Both Latvia and Estonia blew us away! 😍
The Endless Adventure have you guys considered a PO box? Id send you some tea, i don't think the scones, jam and cream would make it though :)
Girl, you won me over knowing you're a cat lover like me! :D
Ya, it's a bit of a problem. I've been using up all our hand sanitizer because I pet every cat we come into contact with 😻😹
As Allison has a cat tattoo I guessed she is a cat lover (like me). The submarine tour looked interesting, but I'm over 6ft tall so I suspect I'd find it claustrophobic :P
Oh ya, you probably would have needed to see a chiropractor after trying to walking through the submarine, haha! And yes, cats are my favorite!! If you haven't been to a cat cafe yet, you should go asap 😸
So at 1:29 in this video, Alison is posing as a knight with a red with a white cross flag and shield. To know more look at Wikipedia here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Denmark
Allison can totally pull off saying "pretty bananas" without sounding weird. 😂
So true 😂 - Eric
I want that as my message alert, ' pretty bananas'.
Nikita is the best!
We agree 😉
Who texts these videos ? Tallinn = Tollund = Holland ??? ;-) But love your videos anyways
Submarines & tunnels?! Not really a day for claustrophobia! Also, if you like exploring city walls you might like to visit York next time you're in the UK.
Thanks for the tip, from the pictures it looks awesome. We'll have to get there soon!
I Was in Estonia once had the nearest thing close to their national dish which is verivorst, blood sausage served with mulgikapsad which is basically sauerkraut stew,oh and I drank a lot of beer.Nice vid folks.
Glad you enjoyed it! We drank quite a bit of beer as well 😄
as an Estonian I enjoyed these vlogs. Next time don't visit only Tallinn... Not so much to do, so many more amazing places here. I still don't get why people always go to places in Tallinn but we have great places in Narva, Pärnu, Saaremaa, Hiiumaa and many more and most of these places are just amazing for their views. Atleat in Hiiumaa which I love and at sunset by the sea WOW breath-taking..
Beer in a 0.5L bottle is way cheaper here, its under 1€
je suis l'estonien
I am allergic to cats probably would die in this cafe
Oh no! That breaks my heart, cats are our favorite thing! 😿
Is no one going to address the name of that tower @ 7:13?. I spat my drink out when Eric said that :D
Hahaha ya, we were joking about it all day! I guess we never said it on camera though... #missedopportunity
Its kiek in the kõk and is not even in estonian btw.
The actual pronunciation is a bit different, as the 'k' is extremely soft, and the 'õ' sounds a bit like ER.
If an Estonian were to say it, it sound like geek in the kerk.
Overall, it's really hilarious from an English standpoint.
7:44 to 7:46: Looks painful :p
Tallinn is not surrounded by these towers, Old Town in Tallinn is surrounded by these walls ;)
Continuity error warning unless Nikita can grow the biggest and thickest moustache in two days yikes!
😂
Did you know, sugar and not fat, makes you fat? Very informative, thanks.
Disgusting cats climbing over and on everything ! LOL Mark UK
