    Great video! Did you order the additional wiring extensions as well?

      Thanks! No, I didn't have to. They all reached to that mounting location, no problem.

    Hiya mate, what Amp fuse did you use in your circuit?

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi, there! I'm running a 5 amp fuse in this circuit. The manufacturer claims they run about 4.5 watts per pod. 4.5 x 8 is 36 watts total, divided by 12v, and that gives you about 3 amps of draw. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    Great video! Did you run your ground wire from the lights to the frame?

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! No, the ground wire can go to the ground connection (black) on the Pulse Bar pigtail.

    What would be the best way to wire them if I wanted the lights on a switch but wanted it to where I could still have them on with the machine key all the way off.

      You’d hook the power wire to the switch you have, then wire the switch to constant power 12v. This way the rock lights will be off unless you flip the switch and they’ll turn on whether the key is on or not.

      You can connect to the always-on, but look very closely at your switch wiring. If you connect the backlight pin to an always-on source, your battery will drain down. Most switches have a dedicated pin for the backlight (which you would connect to switched power) and a pin for the load (which you would connect to always-on power).

    Aren't the rocker switches all.
    you need to turn them off or on? or what purpose does the relay have?

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  Před 2 lety

      Rocker switches have a built in backlight LED. If you connect full-time power to the LED, it will drain your battery while the machine is sitting. Instead, you connect the switched 12v from the machine to the backlight so the LED is only on when the key is on. The drawback is that the switched 12v wire cannot support a lot of amperage. That's where the relay comes in. The relay is just a switch. When the keyed 12v is activated, it throws the relay "switch" which sends the always-on 12v (capable of high current) to the device you're powering. No blown fuses, and no battery drain while the key is off. Hope that helps explain it!

      I've had them about a year now and they are still going strong. No complaints. Thanks for watching!

    Which or what kind of relay did you use? Where can I get one? And are the necessary? Why not just run straight power without a relay? Thanks

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  Před 2 lety +2

      I used a standard 12v relay from a junk car, but you can find them on Amazon. If you do not connect a backlight to your switch, you can run this directly off the red wire on your bus bar, but the lights will not turn off when you turn off the key. If you have a backlight, you'll need to connect to the yellow wire which is only on when the key is on, but the yellow wire does not have enough power to run accessories. Hence the relay. Hopefully that helps clarify...

    Is your wiring diagram located anywhere? Nice install!!

      Just in the video. I just write up a new one for whatever I'm installing or working on each time. I've seen screenshots of this wiring diagram on Facebook though, so I know it's out there. Thanks for watching!

    How may rockers can you run off of one pigtail/relay

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  Před 2 lety

      Depends on the amp draw. I wouldn't run more than 20 amps on a single pigtail.

      Well, that's a bummer! Amazon is usually pretty good about fixing that quickly. Hopefully you get the right one soon!
