    You made me check luna out and i ended up loving it. It beats all the other DAWS i have used in the past including Pro Tools😲😲😲

      I came to the same conclusion. 🙂 I've used Pro Tools for 15 years, but I've been so impressed with the workflow and the sound of Luna that it's all I've used since I first downloaded it.

      If I have spark I am wondering can I use the various tape models included with spark and the API vision not as standalone plugins but in luna channel strip layout. Don’t want to pay for them twice. Great video

      @@willow121212 I have the same Delima as you. I cannot use the tapes or console slots at this time without demoing to buy.
      Don't know if they will fix that or not for those who already own the things.
      The only work around is to place the tapes and consoles into the insert slot. Works great except you have to pull them up instead of them being displayed on the mixer window.

    now that it´s out for windows I can finally use it exclusively. little macbook for songwriting and then put it on the big machine for mixing.
    I used to work in reaper for many years and luna feels very close to my tweaked reaper version. I just wish they would redo the comping, it´s way too much hassle.

    I'm wondering what the Tape and Console slots do different than just using the insert slot?? Is there a benefit to using the Tape and Console slots over the insert??

    • @vaclavsvobodamusic
      @vaclavsvobodamusic Před 2 měsíci

      It is all about accessibility, I guess. In console slots you have all important knobs for all tracks visible in mixer window.

    Can I use the plugins that I got with Luna on Logic Pro too?
    How’s is the Luna for creative midi ideas and such?
    I see it as more of an mixing and mastering daw to work with audio only for some reason 🤷‍♂️

    • @mixinglessons
      @mixinglessons  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Hey, thanks for your comment. I'm afraid I can't say for certain, as I don't have Logic. However, I can tell you that I've been able to load most of the plugins that I got with Luna in Pro Tools. So I would imagine Logic will be similar, but I'm afraid I can't say for certain. The exceptions are the API summing, Ampex tape machine, Polymax and ARP arpeggiator. The midi functionality is great and gives me everything I need, but I use audio alot more than midi, so if you use midi more than audio then you may prefer some of the tools that come with other DAWs like Logic. 🙂 I hope this helps.

    • @murakjin3725
      @murakjin3725 Před 2 měsíci

      Apparently you can use it on logic pro but on Luna there's more functionality I think you'd be missing a couple pluggins that are available on Luna

  • @iTrensharo
    @iTrensharo Před 3 měsíci

    IMO, the Pro Bundle is basically a necessity, as the only thing that makes this DAW worth even considering are the LUNA Extensions. Less so the plug-ins, but the extensions, which are priced at $300-350 if you don't get them via the bundle. Hard sell, outside of that, since you can use some good PA/Waves emulations and get a great sound of almost any DAW on the market. Not really great outside of Audio Recording/Mixing or Mixing Stems from elsewhere - so probably a nice option for people who produce on grooveboxes like Maschine or MPC but want a DAW to mix in.
    For me, the iLok Cloud or Dongle was the showstopper. I won't even download anything limited to those two options. I need at least 2 machine-based licenses to even consider installing iLok License Manager on my machine. UA's licensing is all over the place. Some products support machine licenses while others require a dongle or persistent internet connection.

    • @mixinglessons
      @mixinglessons  Před 3 měsíci

      The extensions are definitely one of my favourite things about Luna, and as you say the pro bundle is the most cost effective way of accessing them, so I think it’s a worth while investment. 🙂 Thanks for your comment!

      I'm still sorting. I own almost all of the UAD powered plugins and a few Satellite Octos. My concern is being chucked into yet another DAW and $400-$500 of "necessary" buys, as I really don't even need another DAW. Studio One, Reason, and FL Studio are sufficient. Are the extensions required if we already have the standard UAD plugins? Note: I have already gone through the expensive 32-bit to 64-bit hardware replacement with this company...ate 4 32-bit cards at $400 per. And most of the UAD plugs I bout came a discounted cost of $100-$125 each. Now, I am seeing the non-powered versions- which are much more screen friendly -bundled for $49 for the lot (ie a few dollars each).
