- Hughie Maughan talks about growing up as a Traveller and coming out as gay in the Travelling Community.
He mentions Senator Eileen Flynn as someone who taught him a lot and he explains how in a survey that was conducted on employers in Ireland, 83% said they wouldn't hire a Traveller purely for that reason.
Hughie questions how can change be expected when this stigma exists. He talks about how there can be reluctance to change within the Travelling Community and he feels Traveller generations are a generation behind.

Life choices determine the life span of people. In order to survive people need to evolve ,need to welcome rather than resisting change in their environment. People need to stop inserting a finger in a candle flame and then complaining of being burned .
Or many of them don't have access to basic medical care 🤦🏻♂️

Well when you say it like that it sounds easy. But its not as if these people are literally throwing themselves into fires... It's way more complex than that
Any comments on the incident at Dublin Airport a few weeks ago when a traveller fight broke out. They stamped on a man's head in front of children. It took settled people to get involved and save the injured man by pulling him from the animals attacking him. Any comment????

Christ. Yeah ye do die young but it's not because you're oppressed or because of prejudice. Your clans have spent decades interbreeding with each other which has lead to genetic problems to the extent that infants need special supplements right after being born.
It's nothing to do with poverty either because you can afford big weddings and bigger funerals.
That's without the steroid usage and chronic drug addiction running rampant.
Take some responsibiltiy for your lives, live like regular people, stop the criminal activity and ye might have a better time of it.
