Osrs team needs to be careful that they don’t make the game too complex. It’s runescape, not wikiscape. I don’t wanna spend my time running damage calcs or looking up weaknesses, I wanna actually play the game. The game can be complex without also being needlessly obtuse.
The Monster Examine spell does that, but it's locked behind lunar spells and 66 magic. I hope they put it on the standard spellbook and drop the level requirement way down
It might not be eoc. But as an rs3 player, it sure does look alot like the eoc system. Also weaknesses to certain types of magic, bolts arrows or thrown weapons.
But this will make the tome of fire and the normal spellbook not usable if the monster has no elemental weakness. For example Zulrah wasn't in the list and the Harm staff is very competetive dps there, without the elemental weakness it'll be useless because most of the dmg is coming from the tome of fire.
@@SonicXCII I don't know the numbers, I've done Harm only Zulrah and it fares very well on the Magma and Green phase but it never hits on the Tanzanite one. If it's not #1 mage weapon then its prob #2

I'm open for more diversity in certain ways, but the way they're going about them feels sloppy and, hate to say it, not old school. While one player might not be too important to jagex, I think the old school philosophy at stake is worth a lot more players.
Maybe just implement more boss specific element immunity? Like lava dragons barely get damaged by fire. But not everything in the game is affected, it makes sense that fire would hit harder than air on the average opponent
I'm just happy I'm maxed. OSRS needs changes but the community thats enforcing and voting on these changes only play the game for a year or two and leave. I'm happy I can be done this chapter in my life finally because this games needs a new name. It's not OSRS and it's not what most of the original 500k people who voted for OSRS wanted.

Im curious how this could hurt alts hitting 1s to venom npcs. It helps bosses regen hp and die for kill credit to defence pures. Wont be able to hit a 1 anymore.

That is RNG for you. No matter how much ranged accuracy you get, you still can't get 100% chance to hit. It is still possible to hit a 0 on a cow. Maybe they should learn from what RS3 recently did, and just remove accuracy, and replace it with damage potential.

Another option would be to have accuracy scale linearly, instead of an inverse exponential curve. Then after the accuracy reaches 100%, excess accuracy could go into increasing the minimum hit. That way you could hit a 1 on a chicken with a godsword.

The dscimmy, whip and now fang for all melee choices. Reaching msb, rune cbow, bofa to tbow and you knew you’d be able to do most content with it. Now you are going to have to have so many different weapons to do content we normally could access
Personally I see it the opposite way. If you ignore the fact that weaknesses exist, PVM will be the exact same speed it was before - but now you have the option of min-maxing your damage by using different weapons. Nobody is forced to, but it's optional for the people who want to tryhard. Edit: The above is only AS LONG AS they don't add resistances, that is where it gets fucked up for the casual players.

Im so excited for faux and roidie. Mmorpg is great at the game, but his high pitch "AAAWHOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Noises are the most unbearable and annoying sounds in the world. Idk creativity isn't anything important. What is important is having sensible balance in combat that isn't esoteric and makes sense. The changes to damage values based on what is being used against what allows for a more varied and in depth way of giving incentives to creative gameplay. If creativity was actually what you wanted you would support this change.

Tome of water new PvP meta. Water is increased accuracy on entangled targets.
It sounds good at first but then you go deep into game and then realise u now need 3 different spells for 1 raid

haha I see some comments saying its eoc etc. This game is going to decline soon anyways because of gold prices. It is going down and so will the bots and goldfarmers along with it. And im up all for it. You will only have a bit bigger community of true players left just like in eoc servers who play the game only for enjoyment. I wonder what a billion $ company thinks about that.
