- The Jungle Book Reaction is today's video!
Hey everyone! Join me as I Watch The Jungle Book Again after not seeing it since I was a child! This Movie still holds up and is amazing to experience all over again! From the songs to the story, The Jungle Book is still one of my absolute favorite Movies to watch!
In this classic Walt Disney animation based on Rudyard Kipling's book, Mowgli, an abandoned child raised by wolves, has his peaceful existence threatened by the return of the man-eating tiger Shere Khan (George Sanders). Facing certain death, Mowgli must overcome his reluctance to leave his wolf family and return to the "man village." But he is not alone on his quest: Aided by Bagheera the panther, and later by the carefree bear Balloo (Phil Harris), he braves the jungle's many perils.

Your infectious & childlike enthusiasm always manages to make me feel optimistic about life. I cannot thank you enough.
You are so kind

As a kid i also cried when i thought baloo was dead, like i always saw him as an adorable fun loving bear, so seeing sherr khan "killing" him was shocking to me, and shere khan honestly gave me the creeps but he still ended up as one of my favorite disney villains.
Also quick fact, the jungle book was Walt's final movie he worked on before he passed away.
Sterling Holloway (the man who voices Kaa) is in fact the original voice of Disney's Winnie the Pooh along with a massive assortment of Disney character all the way back to Mr. Stork from 1941's Dumbo.
After Sterling's passing in 1992, the majority of the roles he had played were passed down to Jim Cummings (who is the current voice of Winnie the Pooh...and Tigger, too, being fully granted the role in 1999 after working as Tigger's singing voice alongside the original Tigger Paul Winchell for 10 years).
Jim Cummings also took over the King Louie voice from singer Louis Prima.
Other roles he played included Alice In Wonderland's Cheshire Cat and The Aristocats' Roquefort (the mouse if you don't remember). According to the Disney Wiki, he narrated a lot of the shorts during the package era, and he also voiced the adult version of Flower in Bambi (there wasn't exactly much for Flower to do, which is why I overlooked it).
2:49 Mother Wolf a.k.a Raksha (the Demon). Fiercely protective of her cubs. Even stood up to Shere Khan in the books..
Walt Disney’s The Jungle Book is a fun, musical, animated film that I enjoy from time to time. Each of the characters are really good. Both Baloo and Shere Khan are my favorites and I Wanna Be Like You is the best song in my opinion. For a late 1960s animated film, this one still holds up today. Thanks for the classic Disney nostalgia, Cody!
Animation is just timeless. Even older cgi films, they look amazing for the time and it's great to see how it has advanced.
Fun Fact: In the Original Jungle Book Baloo is far more strict and meaner than the Gentle Disney Baloo and Shere Khan is refered to as the lame one due to his lame leg
and that’s why Netflix’s “Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle” is my favorite on-screen adaptation because it sticks much closer to the feel of the book
Yeah!
Fun Fact: George Sanders (the actor voicing Shere Khan) was also the first of three actors to play Mr Freeze in the 1966 Batman TV show!
😎
If you’re wondering if the voice of Kaa is played by Jim Cummings the voice of Winnie the Pooh, sadly no it is voiced by Sterling Holloway. He does such a great impression to me also it sounds exactly like Winnie the Pooh!!!!
Actually, Sterling Holloway did do Kaa and Pooh in the original films. Jim Cummings took over both roles in the 1980's.
@TherealRNOwwfpooh he also voices Roquefort from The Aristocats

“I used to cry like such a kid, when I was a kid!”
It’sTotally Cody! (2022)
🤣
3 Things to Know about Kaa:
1-Yes he is voiced by the same person who voiced Winnie the Pooh.
2-In the original story Kaa was one of Mowgli's wisest friends and allies, even being the one who saved him from the monkies.
3-To everyone's surprise, and horror, Kaa has actually cemented himself as one of the most popular fetish characters on the internet, even starting hypnotizing and coiling fanart. So there's that to dwell on.
Hypnotizing Kaa scared the living shit of me as a kid, now I just find it mildly unsettling, with the colored spirals in his hypnotic eyes.
@@IferGanomer me too! thats what makes him terrifying!
Yes! Kaa is evil Pooh. Same voice actor, Sterling Halloway.
The Jungle Book was always one of my favorite animated movies growing up and it still is to this day. As a kid, I was so obsessed with it, that every time I saw copy of it in the video rental store, I would rent it. However, before I saw it, I saw it’s sequel The Jungle Book 2 first.
Me too
@@MultiTcherryJust outta curiosity, when you say “Me too”, do mean as in you were obsessed with this film too or you’ve seen The Jungle Book 2 before seeing the first film?
@@isaiahadams1208 I've seen the first one and the second one, but it's been a long time since I saw the first.
It’s cool how the elephants got you involved In the military and the vultures got you into musical theater, animation is very influential to everyone
I find it funny that he got upset at the idea of his herd being led by a female, even though in nature that's actually how elephant 🐘 herds work, males don't lead in fact they are forced out of the herd when the reach sexual maturity. A herd of elephants 🐘 is a matriarchal.
Mowgli's sleep shoring is adorable 23:56
So cute
*This was Walt Disney’s last animated feature before he passed away from lung cancer from smoking 🚬 in 1966*
This and Disney's 'Robin Hood' are my favorite of the old classics. Before VCRs, we used to go to the public library for screenings of Disney films (and Marx Bros. films, which I highly recommend - start with 'Duck Soup!'). We also checked out the audio of 'Jungle Book' from the library on a set of big 33 1/3 record albums. Good memories.
Have you ever seen an animated movie called 'Watership Down?' It's a classic about a group of wild rabbits trying to find a new home after their old one was destroyed by men. Very exciting and compelling, even a little scary in places. It even explains the rabbits' own vocabulary and highly-developed theology. Good for a reaction.
I'm glad you're doing movie reactions of the good old Disney classics! I grew up watching almost every Disney classic...keyword "almost". But my all-time no 1 favorite Disney classic is Beauty And The Beast.
I wish Disney make a real sequel to this one and not DVD. Like continuing a story with adult Mowgli with Kipling’s dark tone.
I watched this film for the first time in my life a few months ago and i loved every second of it
Before “The Jungle Book” 2016, recommended “Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book” or “The Jungle Book,” it was released in 1994 live action movie starring Jason Scott Lee, Cary Elwes, Lena Headey, Sam Neill and John Cleese
Oh yeah! I love that version too 😊
Yes kaa is voice by the same actor who played Winnie The Pooh at the time.
The songs in this movie will forever bring me extreme joy
I absolutely love The Jungle Book, with it's amazing cast, catchy songs and fantastic characters! I loved Phil Harris, and miss him so much in films. I also love Shere Khan as he's my second favourite Disney villain after Scar. I cannot wait to see your rewatch on the live action remake of The Jungle Book, as I loved Idris Elba as Shere Khan. It's a beautiful film and brought back so many memories from my childhood. Thanks for bringing back nostalgia Cody!
yes, both Ka and pooh where voiced by the same actor: sterling Holoway (sorry if I pronounced his name wrong)
🎵just look for the bare necessities the simple bare necessities, forget about your worries and your strife🎶 oh God I can jam to that song all day, and Kah Kaah?, whatever, THE SNAKE, is my favorite character, his voice is also the Cheshire Cat in Alice In Wonderland, and Winnie The Pooh, and he was also in an episode of Gilligan's Island
Kaa is voiced by Sterling Holloway, who also voiced Winnie the Pooh and The Cheshire Cat.
Baloo is voiced by Phil Harris, who also voiced Little John and O'Malley the Ally Cat.
This is a significant film because this is the last film Walt Disney was involved with while he was alive.
Shere Khan’s voice in this adaptation is the best
This is honestly the best Disney film I've ever watched, alongside Lion King, Aladdin, Cars and the Incredibles
Cars and Incredibles are Pixar movies
It's been awhile since I've seen this
And I still love this
But I forgot how creepy that snake is

I don’t understand why everyone just ignores the fact that King Louis puts his feet on Mowgli’s cheeks, and holds himself up with one hand and pets Mowgli’s head with the other.
Why is that important? That’s why no one mentions it
Shere Khan’s acting reminds me a Hans Lada from Inglorious Bastards.
Jungle Book is one of my favorites growing up especially on VHS. This film is a classic ❤.
I read on Internet that all the characters names are their indian translation (except for Shere Khan who means " King of tigers ").
I'm a little sad because two years ago, I learnt the death of Roger Carel, Kaa's french voice actor and the fact he was also the french voice of a lot of the characters of my Disney childhood movies (Winnie the pooh, Coco Rabbit, Piglet, the Cheshire Cat, Sir Hiss, Roquefort and Lafayette, Bernard of " The Rescuers " and a lot more).
You know, in France there was a real Mowgli. He was called " Victor de l'Aveyron ".
Every time I watch your reviews it make me laugh and smile 😊
*The wolves kinda reminds me of Pongo and Perdita and the puppies from 101 Dalmatians❤️🤍🩵*
(At 5:35) who Sterling Holloway? He's well known for playing the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland, Winnie the Pooh, I'm not sure which one, the mouse from The Aristocats, and the stork from Dumbo. But if anything I'm pretty sure everyone might remember some better on the vintage version of The Twilight Zone, as either the electrician or the Cable Guy.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…
…there’s not nearly enough barbershop quartet songs in the world!
😎😎😎😎
I love that classic cartoon sound effect 14:00
I love it when the vultures sing this funny friends song…
Can’t wait to see your reaction to Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle on Netflix
Some animation have been recycled from earlier films and shorts. The wolf pups that stands on their hind legs and wag their tails is from 101 Dalmatians where some of the pups do the same, the young adult wolves that pounce and licks Mowgli is from The Sword in The Stone where Ector's hounds pounce and licks Wart, the elephants crash and push into each other is from the short Goliath II, Bagheera hitting his head on the log after falling into the river (while the animation isn't directly copied, it was used as a template or as a reference for this) is from Snow White where Grumpy falls into the brook and hits head on the bridge after recieving a kiss from Snow White and the whole sequence where Baloo and Bagheera and King Louie and his monkeys keep snatches Mowgli from one another is copied frame by frame of Mr. Toad, Angus McBadger, Ratty and Moley and Mr. Winkle and the weasels attempts to snatch the deed from one another. Bambi's mom makes a cameo as the deer that Shere Khan is about to prey upon but runs away when she hears The Jungle Patrol coming. While not animation, the laugh for King Louie makes when Baloo tickles him while holding up the pillar, is from Song of the South when Br'er Rabbit laughs like maniac when tricking Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear to look for their laughing place (in order to escape his fate being roasted on a spit by them).
Some of the animations from this movie was recycled in Robin Hood, like Sir Hiss hypnotizes Prince John in order to get rid of his psychosis of sucking on his thumb, obviously Kaa doing this to Mowgli and Bagheera, the elephant that trumpet but gets his trunk gaged by Lady Cluck, which Cononel Hathi does to one of his men when he trumpets too early and Little John and Lady Kluck's dance is mostly compied by Baloo and King Louie's dance. Also Little John and Baloo have similiar body types and ways of move and both are voiced by Phil Harris.
Poor Mowgli 25:23
That was an awesome new intro, Cody, I really like it. And also, I like your dog.
(At 6:18) sad part is, this was my favorite part of Kaa… how he gets screwed over, twice.
This movie nostalgia hits harder than my dad. Its so good and dreamy.
Also the last movie Disney made before he died.
Also the book doesn’t closed until the latest live movie.
I loved this, and I can't wait for the lion-king.
One of my first favourite movies! Agree with you about the animation, I especially love the jungle at night and the subtle change in colour from night to day when Baloo and Bagheera are discussing Mowgli.
Just finished watching TimotheeReacts reaction to "Lady and the Tramp". Now on to your reaction to another one of my favorite Disney classic animated movies. 😊
Definitely been looking forward to this one.
This was the last movie to have Walt Disney's personal touch. He was the one who thought of the idea of the girl being mowgli's decision to go to the manvillage willingly. The ending were Baloo and bagera have that little dance was actually done as a tribute to Walt who died before this movie was finished. If only he lived a little bit longer to see the beginning of Disney Renaissance.
This is one of my favorites of Disney’s classics. Thank you for this reaction
I love this movie. My favorite characters were the Vultures. In addition, Shere Khan terrified me when I was little, and still does to this day.
Cody, you are literally me when "I Wanna Be Like You" started. I can't sit still either when that song plays, lol. Such good memories!
I haven’t seen this movie in a minute so I’m kinda excited to watch it with someone instead of by myself
Man I love this movie when I was little I watch this and The Jungle Book 2 on the portable DVD player and I loved it!
"Is it me or does he sound like Winnie the Pooh?"
It's the same actor, Cody.
The new intro is just like from sing 2 I'm not gonna lie
That was the goal lol
Kaa:ssssay now GOT SOME HUNNY
Mowgli:wtf
I love your channel keep up the good content
(At 13:40 - 25:00) for some reason, I always thought the monkeys were played by African Americans and the vultures were played by the Beatles.
Ok, for what you said about monkeys in a barrel, Nick from NickFlix said the same thing in his reaction video of The Jungle Book.
I hope, you'll reacts "The Fox and the Hound"(1981) or "Oliver and company"(1988) someday 😌😌🤞🏼
My dad said he went to see this at the cinema when it came out, he was 7 at the time. Sterling Holloway voiced Kaa, Roqueford in Aristocats, the Cheshire cat in Alice in wonderland and Winnie the pooh. Phil Harris who voiced Baloo was also Thomas O'Malley in Aristocats and The sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood.
The vultures were based on The Beatles
The vultures were based on the Beatles? I thought their hairdos looked familiar.
Actually that was Little John who was voiced by Phil Harris. Another favorite of mine…
@@stefansalvatierra4913 Oh yeah, sorry got him mixed up with Pat Buttram
17:17 LOL My Favorite Part of the song
The main reason of why Mowgli doesn't struggle with the weather in the jungle is because most feral kids develop some kind of numbness against cold or hot temperatures, and also some become hairy or develop a thick skin as a way to protect themselves against the environment. Once they get back to civilization they slowly regain sensibility towards temperature and stop outgrowing extra hair or skin. Unfortunately most of these kids (or in the worst cases adults) can't cope with civilization and die in a few years or those that achieved getting used to civilization lack or have very little social skills and don't develop spoken language, perhaps some gestures or basic words in the best scenario, they end needing special care, of course this depends if the child spent all his life with animals/wilderness or just a certain period of time and/or if the child had little or none human contact at some point of his life. I hope I don't offend anyybody with this, but even though the cases of humans raised by animals are rare, they exist though and is not like fantasy or myth.
Originally, the vutures were meant to be voiced by The Beatles but their manager rejected Disney's request. Because of the That's What Friends Are For turned from a rock and roll tune to a barbershop song. The intention of the vultures being played by Paul McCarthy, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison is the reason why they have the mop tops of The Beatles, though at this time, they changed their hairstyles they started using on the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, so it was a good thing they didn't get The Beatles as the vultures.
26:38 Funnily enough, I was just watching _Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire_ , and during the graveyard scene when Voldemort is brought back to life and monologues to Harry, I was thinking, "Dude, just kill him already!" And now I'm having the same reaction here. Why doesn't Shere Khan just kill Mowgli right here?
Love the new intro Cody!
@ItsTotallyCody Fun fact: the jungle book was planned to be a world in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep but Square enix suddenly scrapped for no reason probably do to copyright issues or it’s probably because they have no time to finish it do to the limitations of computer graphics for games
I love that they made the beach boys into birds lmao!!!
I learned these songs from the Disney Sing Along Songs: Bare Necessities VHS. Was this movie the inspiration for the cartoon TV show TailSpin in the 90's, which also had a great TV theme show by the way.
The Jungle Book 2 2023 Neel Sethi as Mowgli Auli'i Cravalho as Shanti Bill Murray as Baloo Ben Kingsley as Begheera Christopher Walken as King Louie Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and Idris Elba as Shere Khan
I'm a big fan cody keep up the good work
This was the final film that Walt Disney himself was involved with before his death in 1966, passing away in lung cancer one year before the release of this film.
Have you ever read the original book, Cody? It’s pretty much completely different from this movie. It’s a lot darker, with a more detailed story, which is actually why Walt Disney chose to disregard it in favor of doing his own thing. The two have only a few things in common, like the monkeys kidnapping Mowgli and Shere Khan’s motivation. The 2016 live action version contains elements from both the animated movie and the book.
I love golden age Disney. Very nostalgic.
3:56 Aww lmao
(At 5:35) The sad part is, the rock python Kaa was basically the wisest and oldest creature in the jungle and somewhat friendly and only threatening to the monkeys that were very violent and mischievous. The only problem with this Kaa was… Walt Disney just *had* to make an ass out of him, before he died.
Attribute that to folklores like the 🐍of Adam and Eve, who always framed said reptile as a villainous being for Western audiances.
Besides, it's far more easy to distinguish Baloo, Bagheera and Kaa, all allies of Mowgli in Kiplings work, with different roles and personality traits in an adaptation targeted mostly for children.
Love the new Intro Cody, it slaps and also wouldn’t the wolfs eat mogli since their pack predators.
In the books, the wolves were strict practitioners of the Jungle Law, which forbade hunting and eating humans (since if you hunt humans, they strike back in force..)
You are killing me with the Winnie the Pooh references, I can’t stop laughing, I love it 😂❤️ And yes, it’s Sterling Holloway. The same guy for both Kaa and Pooh 💜🧸🍯
And the stork from Dumbo, and the 🐀 from AristoCats, and the Cheshire 🐈 from Alice in Wonderland
@@IferGanomer oh yeah! I forgot! 😃❤️
You’re right!
I still cry at the scene where he thinks baloo is dead 🙃 it doesn't matter that I know he's alright, the possibility is still very sad lmao
Cody you gotta love Jim Cummings for playing pooh bear and kaa
Sonic: you're too slow! 13:50
Loving the intro Cody
Awwww, Mowgli is twitterpated. lol
Have you seen the 1994 Jungle Book?
🤔
It actually doesn’t follow the book at all (in fact, it plays out more like Tarzan) and it was directed by Stephen Sommers, the director of The Mummy (1999) and Van Helsing (2004).
I don't know what's more weird. The fact that these monkeys are all right singing this or the fact that someone decided to put an orangutan in this movie?
this guy is replacing the 2nd part of my top three fav youtubers XDD (IT'S STILL GOOD DON'T WORRY it's just my number one never gets replaced lmao)
Loving ur reaction! Question: do u think u can also do a reaction on the Jungle Book sequel?
There's a Jungle Book 2 that follow's the story that was put forward by this one. It takes place after Mogli became a part of the man village
That's Mowgli dude
@@wardellcowwie1008 You know what I mean

6:20 pretty funny thing I noticed at this point,i know this is the English version but still for a moment it sounded like kaa spoke Finnish. Sounded like he was saying that: taas mennään which means In Finnish here we go again
3:20 Sorry if I'm commenting so much but OH MY FUCKING GOD I never thought I would hear you say something like that LMFAOOOO I'M DYING OF LAUGHTER
I luv this movie Baloo is my favorite
Watch the Chuck Jones adaptation. It’s much more faithful to Kipling’s original story and features the voices of Roddy McDowell and June Foray (aka the woman of 1000 voices). He also adapted The White Seal and Rikki Tikki Tavi (the latter narrated by Orson Welles).
