- The inimitable Funeral Mist - one of the most iconic bands on the NoEvDia roster - has delivered unto us “Deiform”. Seven musical pieces contemplating the nature of divinity and mortal existence through the fiery lens of black metal.
As did the three past albums, “Deiform” exhibits a completely different approach to sound production compared to its predecessor. Nevertheless, from the first song to the last, the source of this multi-layered madness is unmistakable; all the classic Funeral Mist characteristics are present. Ambitious interludes which are impressive compositions in their own right. Innovative use of various samples which become a living, breathing part of the music. And frenzied oration delivered by what many believe to be the best and most versatile vocalist in black metal. All culminating in spiritual violence in its crudest form.
“Deiform” is a holistic experience, in the sense that music, art, and photography - all deriving from the project’s mastermind, D Rostén - is connected, and thereby best experienced in unison.

That;s funny because its the first album I've really gotten into. And yes, I have been familiar with them for a long time. I prefer Zavorash over any previous FM albums to give you some perspective.

I was a fan of Funeral Mist since the times of Salvation and Maranatha. I waited more than 9 years for their return, and they did not disappoint. When I heard their first albums I thought: this is exactly how I think a Black Metal sound should be like. Perfection.
It's funny because every album from funeral mist requires another listen.For me it's never an intermediate homerun, I always fall in love on like the 3rd or 4th listen
For me this is the best I've listened to in a long while. 6 months in and this album grew from an impression to sit as a monolith in the middle of the Funeral Mistian dagger that attacks you with no warning.

Funeral Mist always delivers, wasn't expecting a new album so soon after the excellent Hekatomb but this is certainly a welcome surprise!

The production is actually pretty muddy, the previous record had a clearer drum production, I don't know what you are talking about.
'Salvation' will always be one of my top 5 Extreme Metal Albums ever. I doubt Mortuus can reach that same level again, but this is still an amazing record nonetheless. And great job from Lars as always
Same. Salvation is on a whole other level. But mostly because of the dynamic drums that necromorbus did, and the amazing recording at necromorbus his studio. its a savage album that these later works cannot touch.

"INTO ASHES" - A song to play at your wedding and your funeral.
Masterpiece! Mortuus once more shows off his skill in both creating eerie atmosphere and ravaging intense black metal as it should be. Absolutely unique and striking. In my opinion the best since Salvation and for sure one of the best black metal releases in a long time. Playing it in the third round and no sign of weakness yet appearing.

@@hesherettei know what you mean. hekatomb was their first album i heard and it blew. my. fucking. mind. Everything they put out is 10/10 but id have to say marantha has become my favorite. Jesus saves, white stone are some of my favorite songs ever. I think i’ll need to listen through this new one a couple more times before i start to digest it

Really good! I really enjoyed this - I loved salvation from them and this sounds so fresh at this age for some reason.
This is their best album after Salvation.Intense and dark as it should be.

Saw this in my Feed didn't know what to expect but decided to click on it and holy shit I was blown away. The first song is absolutely incredible. The vocals are amazing and the album doesn't get stale for 1 second. One of thd best album I've heard in the last decade.

This whole album is perfect. The intro track twilight of the flesh gives me more chills than any metal track in my 25+ years of listening to black metal and its related subgenres.
for some reason i never had much desire to listen to this one despite getting it at soon as it was released. only listened to it maybe five times ove the years but have been listening lately and it is very good. the Into Ashes, Hooks of Hunger, and In Here are the ones that I prefer. now to go listen to that new marduk and unanimated from a couple years ago... into ashes reminds me more of the older times, from 20 years ago than any other songs on the past 3 albums.
