    Carl Gustaf, EJAB, and EAB are all made in the city of Eskilstuna. One of Sweden's most important centers for metal industry. The name of the city itself is a proof of quality for Swedish tools and cutlery.
    Erik Anton Berg made the sharpest damn woodworking tools that you will ever find.

    Thanks for showing that the M96 bayonet fits in the AG42B. I just got a 1919 Swedish Mauser 96 and I got the bayonet and sling for it but I haven't got the bayonet and sling for the AG42B yet.

    Today i found out that that old bayonet, I bought in a “flea market”(if i remember right, it’s been a long time) in 1999, when deployed to Bosnian Hercegovina was in fact a old swedish M1896 Mauser bayonet, and reading up on the history, about Sweden being neutral during WW2, but they did donate some 50.000 M1896 rifles or M/96 rifles for short, as they also was called, to Russia during the war, so perhaps that! is how my old bayonet eventually ended up in Bosnia, being an old Soviet block. I could be wrong tho, i’m no expert on the matter

    Have half a dozen or so swedish rifles and thought I was done buying. Came across an unusual m96 with two stock disc cutouts. It's the only one I've ever seen so naturally I bought it. Have you ever seen one or know anything about a two disc swedish rifle? One disc is missing and the disc it has is the 2nd variation type one. It also has the type one Elit diopter sight. Rifle is a Carl Gustaf made in 1907. Another unusual aspect is the bolt. It is a numbers matching straight bolt to the rifle but the crown stamp on bolt and bolt components have the tilted Husqvarna stamp. I have heard that diopter m96 rifles were tested for possible sniper use but were not adopted. Could this be one if those test rifles?

    Thanks in part to your videos I’m searching for a 7mm South American Mauser (Brazilian/Chilean). Are gun shows the best place to find them for a reasonable price? I’ve seen a few on the internet but they are $500+. Simpson Limited usually has them priced in the 1-2k range. Are they just high or am I missing something. Great content!

    • @MilsurpWorld

      Gunshows are good for those, I've seen more Brazilian 1908s than Chilean 1912s for sale. Probably try online auction sites until everything opens again.

    • @MilsurpWorld
      @MilsurpWorld  Před 4 lety +1

      If the hole on a m/96 bayonet was plugged then it wouldn't work as a bayonet. I haven't heard of the Swedes doing that, seems to defeat the purpose.

      m/96 bayonets tend to go around 40 to 60 depending. I've seen m/14 bayonets around 80 to 110.

      @@MilsurpWorld Here in Sweden you get either for like around 10-18 bucks, depending on if there is a scabbard or not. I was given both versions for free from an old guy when i was a kid in the 80's, sadly i gave away the M/96 bayonet int he early 2000's but luckily i kept the M/94 carbine bayonet.

    what are the average prices of M38's and M96's right now, I cannot find any stable prices, but back a year ago whenever I bought one I got a hot deal on a M38, wanting to get another because Ljungmans are expensive

    • @MilsurpWorld
      @MilsurpWorld  Před 4 lety

      Prices on Swedes are all over the place. There are a lot of variants with Swedes that can influence the price that most people wouldn't realize. m/96 rifles start around 400 and go up to 600 or so depending on a number of factors.

    • @rolltide_4952
      @rolltide_4952 Před 4 lety

      @@MilsurpWorld yeah thats around the average I have seen, it seems like the swede market all increased by around $100+ because I remember at least whenever I was looking some M96's were going for around 300, and I went to a gun show and saw an all matching Obendorf going for like 450, that is my largest regret not buying

      @XxMrLimeyxX Před 3 lety

      Sorry I worded that poorly. What I mean is did they just use those rifles for training? Or bayonets where not issued with those rifles? Or perhaps they lived with the rattle? Or perhaps they had a thread protector that allowed for the bayonet to fit properly?
      I have an aftermarket thread protector that is ever so too large for the bayonet unfortunately. Thanks for the response!
