I never played any Doom game, so out of curiosity finally decided to at least give the soundtrack a listen and HOLY CRAP!
BFG Division and The only thing they fear is you, hitted me HARD!
Mick Gordon sure knows what he is doing, ALL the credit to HIM for making music landscape this aggresive and imaginative.

@@Jhulian_R Certainly an easy recommendation. Both Doom 2016 and even more so Doom Eternal are absolutely amazing. I rarely have as much fun with a game as I did with Eternal. You get to annihilate hordes of demons with badass weapons and an even more badass soundtrack, whats not to love. Also literally the only games where I didnt dare to touch the Music Volume slider

In this video, he is the embodiment of every DOOM fan while playing the game and listening to these masterpiece of music. DOOM is a $60 album that comes with a game.

Edit: some of those instruments arent actually instruments. Throughout the 2 osts Mick Gordon used revving a chanisaw, a lawnmower, and a kitchen blender among other things as instruments. He also used a choir made of heavy metal singers, as well as an 8 and 9 string guitar tuned to double drop d to get that low growl on the lead guitar. I HIGHLY recommend watching the video of him talking at GDC about how he got the sound for the Doom and Doom: Eternal osts.

Mick's soundtracks are unquestionably some of the most imaginative and intricate music ever created - the man is one of the most hard-working and passionate composers.
I'm happy for you that you experienced his Doom music and I can only recommend listening to them in their entirety.
For those who don’t know
They made a *Death metal choir and had them chant stuff!*
There are two Doom storylines that are actually connected even though it first seemed there was a reboot. In the original series a company known as the UAC decided to use Hell as a conduit for teleporters. Things went horribly wrong of course, and Doomguy, a single marine left after a disasterous mission to close the Hellgate is the main character mowing through hordes. Doom 64 ends with Doomguy trapped in Hell. After a long time without a Doom game, we finally got a new one. It reveals there are alternate Earths, but they are connected to the same Hell. In the new series the UAC decided to open a rift to Hell and tap its energy to solve Earth's energy crisis. While exploring Hell they discover the original Doomguy and bring him out to their Earth. He wakes up, and continues to rip and tear. One fun thing you discover is that you (Doomguy) has actually become a legend/boogyman to the daemon hordes by that point, which is why "The Only Thing They Fear Is You".

You should watch his talk on how he made this soundtrack. He talks about his crazy "looping" rack setup, that made it possible to run the signal through the same effect chain a bunch of times, which produces some of these unique sounds.

Funfact Mick gave the 8 string guitar after he finish the ost to the basser of the Meshugga. They are friends. Also funfact 2 bfg have a sampled chainsaw. Only thing have a lawnmower.
I call that repeated punching section toward the end of The Only Thing They Fear is You "The Beatdown Section" because it is an auditory depiction of being punched in the face over and over and over again until there is nothing left of your head.
I was always into OG 80's, 90's synths, experimental, electronic stuff. Never have I listened to heavy metal or rock. But this is the kind of music that produces so much dopamine for me, I don't think it's healthy.
I'm glad you actually touch on that subject, that is something I've been thinking about the past days, society now a days create over saturated pleasant products, to attract (chemically) the most clients (or the most attention).

Would love to see some ultrakill! It’s quite like doom in gameplay, but the ost is made by the same dude programming it! He’s crazy, would recommend Castle vein, order (with dialogue) duel reprise, and tenbre rosso sangue!
One of the best ost’s ever! Up there with doom, Undertale, and many others!

Technically he combined guitar with Chainsaw,the guitar you heard is not a guitar but it just a chainsaw and technically we didn't reload we enhanced with chainsaw

A bit of criticism here but you talk over parts that you think are the exact same but there's a lot of different things going on in the background but you don't hear it because you're talking too much.
Unfortunately at the end of the song you talked over some of the best parts and it kind of ruined the reaction.
