I'm using the both of them in MIDI-Mode for this example, running the program Reason underneath. For the new MKII video, the big Maschine is in stand-alone mode with all of the Groups set to receive MIDI notes. If you Control+Click on the little triangle button nest to a Group, you can find the Sound MIDI Batch Setup. You have to make sure your midi-mode template is programmed to play the same notes. Can even use Maschine in midi-mode to control itself!
Aahhh. The buttons and knobs are controlling Master FX. Not velocity sensitive; this is just a regular old Maschine that happens to be white with wood panels and has my name on it:) I'm holding the On/Off button for a Band Pass Filter, while twisting the knob to change the Frequency of that filter. Looks like I'm rubbing the button, but it's just Knob humping.
What makes Jeremy Ellis a true master is his ability to pull this stunt at anytime. The sense of rhythm is superb, it's like he has a million different patterns already well formed in his mind. Great vid, @jeremyellismusic
Once your MIDI-Mode template is programmed correctly not to overlap notes, you don't have to program that part again. Then make sure that each Group in Maschine is receiving it's own unique 16 MIDI notes by changing the Root Note in the Sounds to MIDI Notes area. That should only take a few minutes per song. You'll notice that each Group should start an octave + a major 3rd: C-2, E-1, G#0, C2, E3, G#4, C6, E7. Using these Roots Notes will give you use of all 128 available MIDI notes.
What I meant was the top row of buttons. They seem to be velocity sensitive because the way you're wiggling them seem to be affecting the filter cutoff....
How the fuck do you do that?!? What are you some kind of super-fingered freak? This feeling, what is it... is this what jealousy is like? It's painful, yet exhilarating. I will absorb your powers by watching and I will use them as my own! Awesome!
Yeah I have Maschine 2 but for the life of me I can't figure it out! smh. Ive pretty much stuck to my midi keyboard and vsti's Battery 3, Massive, Sylenth1 and Dune.
TakeOff BeatsInc Yeah, I really like Massive sounds, I use prism sometimes, I use a lot of the motif sounds. I like the Machine drum kits and individual sounds, good quality and very editable if you're willing to take the time. I use the Maschine controller for all drums (I'm nostalgic for the MPC), and I use the Motif as a controller keyboard for non-percussive instruments, samples and for it's own sounds. I'm much more comfortable with a keyboard for everything except drums and general sequence control. The Maschine does have a learning curve to it... I've got it doing everything I want it to, but then I discover new things that I didn't know that I wanted!
Thank you for the speedy reply! I went and figured out the MIDI Batch set-up on successfully triggered a single note of a pad. So are you setting up different channels for each group to ensure no single pad is triggering more than one sound since there are overlapping notes? Seems a little daunting and totally understand why you'd use Reason as I'm assuming the MIDI mapping must be loads easier.
Dear Mr. Ellis, I've been inspired by you and went out to get my own maschine mikro. But recently i've tried to open the maschine software and it just wont appear... but when i check my task manager it claims it's open (i'm using windows 7 if that helps) anyways thanks very much i hope you or somebody else can help me with this so i can practice again. Much thanks, Chris
Hi Jeremy, I'm using same setup with Maschine and Maschine Mikro and using the Maschine software. I have tried to follow your explanations above but I'm at a lost. On the big Maschine, I have it selected in MIDI, CONTROL is lighted up. I selected "Sound MIDI Batch Setup" from the triangle next to the group and selected "Sounds to MIDI Notes". Is this the correct option to choose? Root note is set at C-2 and MIDI channel is selected on 1 on Group A. Mikro has Group A but no sound on Mikro.
Sorry to just call you out like this man haha, but I am about to come up on maschine mikro, Ive been looking up on the interwebz on how I can make the little mikro a slave to the big guy. Im assuming you run midi out into mikro? If there is anyway you can help shed some light on the subject I would be extremely grateful. Or point me into a legitimate direction! lol plz :) Jeremy Ellis
Can you please show us how you are using two Maschine controllers? In your most recent NI campaign video it's stated that you are using only Maschine. However a few of us are aware that you most likely have two instances of Maschine running to make this possible.

Yeah, buddy! 2 Filters, a bunch of Beat Repeaters, a Dub Delay, big Reverb, and a Bit Rate Distortion for the bass parts. So many good times!

Just sick Jeremy, NI should make a custom controller for you with two sets of pads for performance, nice work, as usual.
sick, so inspired, ill work with the effects manipulation, I'm a steel that idea. keep it up
You should totaly cover James Bond movie as a whole, live. That would be an experience+

thanks for sharing your great skills!!! which controller would u prefer for live finger drumming beats? machine or launchpad? best wishes
How the fuck do you do that?!? What are you some kind of super-fingered freak?
This feeling, what is it... is this what jealousy is like?
It's painful, yet exhilarating.
I will absorb your powers by watching and I will use them as my own!
Awesome!
Lol dope! Takeoffbeatsinc@gmail.com ( in ref to that other crazy post we're on haha)
Rgr that. This is the main controller/program I use (Maschine 2.0) along with a Yamaha Mo6. I can't finger bang like this guy though.
Yeah I have Maschine 2 but for the life of me I can't figure it out! smh. Ive pretty much stuck to my midi keyboard and vsti's Battery 3, Massive, Sylenth1 and Dune.

Yeah trying to get my hands on a mpc. Nothing like the feel of it.
That's just insane... You can't be human...

Thanks in advance! Is there by chance you could post a video on setting this up?
THAT WHITE MASCHINE IS SIICCCK
im also unaware of how to set up the midi mode template, any help, helps! :) Jeremy Ellis
How many hours you spend a day practicing and how much a beginner should do?
Dear Mr. Ellis,
I've been inspired by you and went out to get my own maschine mikro. No... I think he is turning the knob below the button with his hand.
Can you tell us where you got the the wood trim for your maschine/maschine mikro?
Thanks

So, if you have maschine and massive, will massive be more tightly integrated in maschine with 1.8?
What is better MPD OR MACHINE if MACHINE is better MIKRO OR NORMAL
Sorry to just call you out like this man haha, but I am about to come up on maschine mikro, Ive been looking up on the interwebz on how I can make the little mikro a slave to the big guy. Floored.
You'd probably be really good at beatmania IIDX.
PLEASE do a tutorial for the setup of 2 Maschines at the same time
I know at least one small company, or maybe just some dude, sells them on ebay. Just do a google search.
Holly!! I can't imagine that is human s finger
