Listening to the FDD has become my morning routine. Long live free secular democratic Iran. Long live Israel. Iranians stand with Israel.
I will continue to do all I can to speak up for Israelis as a humanitarian; to challenge the grow unfairness and mischaracterisation of this conflict, and to refute fallacious arguments and claims. My only regret is not taking more interest sooner. I admit I was very influenced by media. In Australia media is incredibly polarised on all things related to Israel; and the image projected of both Israelis and the IDF is grossly inaccurate in both pictures. Israelis deserve the same respect and empathy that we offer everyone else. Challenging one-sided empathy must be something we all undertake; but it’s the false equivalence which allows people to spread Holocaust inversion and other DARVO tactics. I will keep doing this, as a self directed volunteer. I had no idea this would become so important in the world, but it’s very clear to me that this is the case. ❤🇮🇱🕊☮🌍

This conflict highlights the effect of short-form social media format propagated over social-media platforms - as well as conservative (legacy) media. The structure of short-form media from Gha-za is formulaic: shocking imagery that is not commonly seen and demands attention, i.e. involving blood, gore and death. The imagery is skillfully framed, which shows that it’s generated professionally in many instances (not from bystanders experiencing an alleged “genocide”). The latter shows strategic positioning and forethought to create specific imagery.
That content is often paired with concepts from International Law like “genocide”, “war-crimes” “violation of international humanitarian law”; however, the legal tests required for these to be true (in-terms of rule-of-law) are never mentioned, neither the fact that if fired open a legitimate State may defend itself by returning fire. It’s the persistent pairing of negatively valenced attention grabbing content and how the content is consumed: a context of low-involvement processing that leads to false associations being built and reinforced. The shocking imagery engages the nervous system more deeply, leading to learning and concept-pairing in the audience.
Once the concepts are built in the audience, more rationalised messaging follows on conservative channels - the rationalisation is superficial, wordy, slanted and biased towards a political outcome. Often, it’s reputable professors/analysts/rapporteurs with a clear leaning towards a given political outcome. Such messaging is more geared towards confirmation-bias in the audience than objective legal-tests from international and humanitarian law.
It’s a potent form of internet-based psychological warfare that has been refined over the years of Urban warfare in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. It poisons people’s minds using learning mechanisms native to the mammalian nervous system. The best way to describe it is like a red-tide poisoning the marine life and then being consumed by people, causing sickness. Where the sickness is destruction of international alliances and relationships. When combine with proxy terror operations, it’s a refined form of warfare that seeks to equalize the technological advantage by creating a distorted view of the Urban environment thus eroding political will and alliances.
UN security resoution 1701 is the biggest hypocricy on earth.
