  • from "Day of Death" show.
Broken Hope, Obliveon (Canada), Atheist, Immolation, Revenant, Morta Skuld... were also on the bill.
I've seen the 25th listed elsewhere as the date for this show.
Besides this video coming from who was there recording, the 25th would've been a Tuesday... which seems like an odd day for a show of this size in 1990.

So wait a minute: the song "Cynical Sphere" is another unreleased track together with "useful human waste"? Both never have appeared on any demo?

@@PropheciesForetold Yes, no recording of the two tracks never took place. Fortunately we do have live footage of the two songs on CZcams but sadly most have very crappy audio. This video is pretty audible though.

@@n0ah_m309 There' another unreleased track called "Unjust Nature". It's also here in CZcams. If only could hear the Seaweed demo's I could die happy....

Mindblowing. Superprofessional live being so young. Pity there's no Pleading in the tracklist

Also, everyone always talks about this show being in Milwaukee…it was not in Milwaukee, it was actually at the Waukesha County Expo Center in Waukesha, Wisconsin, about 15 minutes west of Milwaukee. I still have the flyer from the show, and it was definitely the 29th, not the 25th as some people seem to have thought.

4:27, that’s me with my arms crossed in all black, middle of the screen, and my high school buddy and later band mate in Nocturnal Torment, Pete Clemens in the white shirt to my left.

Amazing quality! Thank you for uploading this gem. Do you have any clues why and when Paul stopped doing the growls? It sounds great to me, wonder why he would just stick to vocoder later.

I knew the Cynic guys then, as we were all the same age and my band Amboog-a-Lard (with Twiggy from Manson on rhythm guitar) was just starting to play shows locally in the Ft.Lauderdale / Miami area.
Paul and Sean were already good friends with Chuck Schuldiner by this time and the seed of the Death Human project was taking shape.
As for Paul singing, I agree he sounds great here and I thought they were fantastic as a straight up thrash/death metal band. However Paul and Sean felt metal was far too limiting and didn’t want to be just another “me too” metal band.
With Death they were given the opportunity to get all the “metal” out of their system and wipe the slate clean and usher in the “weird Cynic” era - as we all called it.
TBH I don’t really care for the direction they went with Focus, etc but that’s just me… 🤷‍♂️
