In this situation, the ukrainians overstimated their defenses with the lack of manpower (For example, terrotorial and national guard brigades. I believe that they weren't experience and weren't equipped with a lot of heavy equipment)
This also tells us that ukraine fell in for the russian trap in kharkiv, which drove off experienced brigades (Which I believe it could be the 93rd Mechanized Brigade? Correct me if I'm wrong) and left a few of the parts in the front completly vunerable to russian attacks.
And I think I've heard a comment talking about how the russians are sending small recon squads in many inactive or active fronts in order to find out the weak points of the ukrainians and could smash right through their lines with mechanized infantry, tanks, drones and etc.

@@off6848 Could be. But it's a very risky maneuver if they're still outnumbered significantly in that area.
Where numbers and firepower are evenly matched, there's a _very_ fine line between "encircling" and "being encircled". And to an extent, a maneuver can be both at the same time.
One of the reasons I estimate that Ukrainian manpower self-reporting is grossly inflated, is that in the past 9+ months Russia has been very flippant and eager to make encircling advances. Which means they have very little concern of being overwhelmed and cut off. It means that Russia is winning, in an undeniably dramatic fashion.

NATO is not sending military equipment for UKR to win the war but, it is sending them to evaluate their chanches if they attack Russia directly ... As for RU, if you draw line from Vuhledar to Vovchansk, it is almost N-S straight line. I think that is Russian current objective. Can they do it this year? Idk.

1:19 We must be aware that our ability to determine the exact frontline in those city battles are highly limited, to learn more how this works i recommend the Stalingrad series of the history youtube channel TIK. City battles are very dynamic, changing from hour to hour, its not like the trench warfare in the open fields as we know in Ukraine. We have no idea who is actually in which house or how the landscape has changed after FAB bombing. Its ok for an overall picture, but its highly unlikely that there is this narrow passage of 2 houses where all the russians are going threw.

The difference now is that Russia has thermobaric rockets and bombs
This gives a unique advantage when seiging fortified buildings because it’s not dependent on blasting open a building but rather if the building is not sealed up tight (they have holes all through them) the vacuum bomb will suck the air out injuring everyone inside
The strength of the steel and concrete doesn’t matter

Only this new income probably already outweighs the costs of maintaining several hundred thousand soldiers plus weapons/equipment in special military operation activities. The Russian Federation will take as much of ukruine as it wants, when it wants, and it can do so for decades at very low cost. and if it needs more military personel, perhaps the chairman kim jong un can help, he has 4 million troops at his immediate disposal and many more on call.
