When I moved to Miami I did the same thing, paid 12 months up front. The HOA (building association) took almost a month to approve my application even though the apartment was empty. They wanted payslip/ bank statements visa, criminal checks from the uk. New tenants go to the board for approval but they only meet once or twice a month so worth checking the process and when or who approves new tenants.
I bet they love your English accents ...Love your Vloggs!!!

Hi Matt and Summer have watched your journey since the beginning and great to see how you have continued to succeed. If you can do a vlog or q&a session on the visa process it would be great. Moving to the states has been something we as a family have considered seriously as my brother lives there (in Orlando) but his green card was through marriage to a Floridian. The standard family visa route is a long and complicated process and we ended up abandoning our efforts. Any pointers for alternative visa routes would be amazing and really appreciated……looking forward to following your American adventure!

Ahhh, in all my Le haunts. Congrats on the move and the apartment. Even though Brickell is great, there’s a lot of dodgy buildings there…. Ok patrons!! I couldn’t stand the humidity year long so i only stayed two years but i really hope you love it. Make sure you check out the Greek restaurant Mandolin Aegean bistro. Great food and ambiance xx

Miami is a world major financial business center with many upscale clients. The Gold Coast Queensland Australia is more of a tourist area.

The fact you are paying 12 months upfront in Miami shows you must be making some serious money, congrats.
My guess is about $60,000 they spent which isn't that crazy. Just a shame that it's like $60,000 gone that could have been a downpayment on a place.
They make really good money. And they're saving a lot now that they're incorporated in Dubai.
Given that they got an O1 investment visa also means they're rich!

@@venom5809downpayment? They're from Europe and play the "try before buy" game. Usa has a pretty bad reputation these days, unfortunately. I know that most of it is simply fake news or taken out of proportion but it still bites in the back of your head.
Miami summers are brutal just like Dubai people leave for the whole summer. I can see you guys in LA, but working the UK time zone might be a bit tough.

First one I wouldn't too small and never keep others furnishings if I have my own. So you are still renting and not buying then were you looking only to rent and not buy? hope the SS works out quickly. I wish you knew someone you could stay with instead of renting until you found something you like. I hope it all works out for you. Yes indeed do your research before sending funds lots of fake rentals out there even by the renters themselves and some realtors too btw.
