Spot on except I'd add a reason to not buy a new Harley. You mentioned tech; the new electronics: In September 2019 I bought a brand new 202 Road King Special. Paid MSRP out the door because Harleys sales numbers were suffering and I went to the dealership with buying power, cash, and the will to say no to the high pressure sales manager, and I did until he got the message. The RKS because after 20 years on touring bikes with ever increasing tech I decided to get back to basics. No tech. Speedo only. Sure there's tech but no big screen to distract me and to become antiquated in a few years. RK all the way for me. No more rolling tech platforms disguised as a Harley-Davidson.

I’m happy with my 2012 Tri Glide. The new ones aren’t much different so I’ll save my money for something else. Arizona is starting to wake up from its Winter sleep. 90s now.

I had a chance to buy one of the new glides a couple months ago. I decided to buy the leftover 23 ultra limited 120th anniversary edition. I’ve had bat wings in the past and have had several road glides both specials and the limiteds. I’ve had the blacked out versions for the last few. I wanted to get back to chrome and I’ve been missing the looks of the bat wings. Once I bought this new ultra limited I realized that it’s just as calm if not more calm of a ride as the road glides I’ve had (wind management) I only notice at slow speeds when turning I feel the weight of the infotainment in the fairing and on the forks but, I’m getting used to it.
I couldn’t get a 24 ultra limited in chrome they only come with the blacked out treatment.
I’ve watched several videos on the new bikes and people have been having problems with them being stranded due to electrical issues.
Plus, I feel like now Harley is copying Indian/ Polaris. It was the other way around before.
I’m happy with what I bought and it will probably be my last new Harley or last Harley in general.
I also own a 23 BMW R1250GS Adventure so, I’m having some good times with what I have. Only vehicle I’ll buy next is a new truck if anything.
Keep your Road glide if you’re happy with it.

Great video! I totally agree with your three reasons NOT to buy a '24 SG or RG. Another one of mine is the chopped up sheet meatal on the RG and SG which are considered touring bikes. HD has lost their way of styling and traditional great looks!! Also, water cooling, Really?? Just more overpriced parts to fail for the HD Dealers to replace at your big expense!!! The '23 and older traditional FL fenders are great in the rain and on dirt roads, the '24 fenders look like sh*t on a touring bike and also leaves the radiator exposed for all the rocks and road debris to damage!!! I love my '21 and '23 Street Glide specials and my '22 Street Glide CVO, no regrets.

Mas3292, so function over form is something I have preached to new riders but not aggressively. Any biker who goes on the highway will learn eventually that function over form will keep you dry, cool(er), and warm in the cold. The motor company, by sacrificing function for form, is catering to a specific segment of the biker population namely the young cool guys. You know those dudes; they all look the same with the pelican case panniers, the flannel shirts (for farmers and surfers), and their mother's knitted gloves. They will learn like most of us (maybe) after a good ass kickin or two on the highway that the cool guy thing is pretty worthless at 80 mph in the wind, rain, and cold. The motor company would benefit from keeping this in mind with respect to their "touring" bikes. Just my two cents.

@@warpig6067 I'm old school and I've been purchasing new Harley's and customizing them for over 35 years. I've never had a problem with function with any of my bikes. I'm all for upgrades and improvements (love the new standard complete LED lighting for '24) but HD made some big drastic changes to almost all of their touring bikes for "24, and for '25, it will be on all of their touring bikes just as soon as the company uses up all of their Rushmore Edition parts. All of this to reduce costs and increase customer dependency on their dealer network. My opinion, for what its worth.

I bought a new 2024 Road Glide 2 weeks ago. It’s my 5th Harley and by far the best riding and handling bike I have ever ridden. I traded in a 15 limited and paid out the balance. It took me a couple of hours to learn how to use the info screen and Bluetooth the sound to my Cardo on my helmet. Let me just say don’t go test ride one because you will find a way to buy one.
    Have a nice day.

Heard good and bad about the new 2024’s.
The price of any new vehicle/ interest rates and the unstable economy is what’s keeping me from buying a new bike.

One of the allures of a H-D is to "make it your own". That is to customize the bike and make it unique to you. You've done that with your bike and it's a beauty. Besides the high price of a new bike the added expense of customization may put it over the top. I toyed with the idea of buying a 24 but came to the same conclusion as you.

Hey fella got a question, do you feel like upgrading from a TC to a M8 is worth it? I currently have a 14 sg standard. Looking at a 21 M8 with a 114. Does the M8 run that much cooler? I have to sale the wife as well 😂

Although I loved my Twin Cam it had several issues with heat. I did every mod imasgineable just to get it to run with out over heating in Florida. I think in Northern states it is not so bad. My M8 is much better in the heat. I still did a fan assist oil cooler. The M8 is set up better for it. I have had ZERO isssues with it as far as heat.

Yep you have to weigh it all out. Time, space, budget…I find it’s like buying a house and takes me years to settle into a new bike. A high mileage rider might keep it stock and trade every 2-4 years. Did the same partial finance til I could move money around for a few months.
